What To Expect:

The Gauger Operator will be working with the processes involving the use hazardous and volatile materials under high temperature and pressure. Typical working conditions include: outside weather and elements, blowing air, heat, noise, vibration and occasionally working from heights and confined spaces. Operators must follow safe work practices including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This is a Union Represented position.

What You'll Do:

  • Performing routine pipeline/terminal maintenance.
  • Monitoring / controlling pipeline delivery and receipts.
  • Ensuring quality and quantity of products/crude.
  • Identifying and resolving scheduling conflicts.
  • Accurately ensuring timely completion of required paperwork.
  • Staying abreast of changes in operations.
  • Performing operational duties in accordance with the Terminal Operating and Procedures Guide and Local Operating Procedures Guide.
  • Responding to emergencies and maintaining emergency and measurement equipment.
  • Completing mandated safety and regulatory training (CBT).
  • Maintaining effective and professional relationship with customers and responding promptly to their needs.
  • Performing environmental and regulatory checks, eliminating-containing-reporting product/crude leaks, seeps and spills.
  • Assisting with transport driver training.
  • Monitoring and enforcing safety rules at truck rack and unloading facilities.
  • Occasionally assuming supervisor's responsibilities during absences.
  • Assisting with construction and maintenance projects and pursuing cost reduction opportunities.

 

What You’ll Bring – Required:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license
  • Willingness and ability to perform and comply with following, with or without reasonable accommodations:
    • To climb up to 20 feet using both inclined and vertical ladders 
    • To lift up to 69 pounds
    • To push and pull forces up to 100 pounds 
    • To respond to emergency calls as needed 
    • To remain on call as needed
    • To work 12-hour shifts rotating between days, nights, weekends. 
    • To work overtime on an as-needed basis 
    • To work in enclosed spaces, such as tanks and silos 
    • To work with chemicals and bases
    • To wear personal protective equipment (such as fire-retardant clothing, steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)
    • To maintain your face so that a respirator / face mask can seal properly (i.e to be clean shaven (facial hair)) 
    • To work outside in harsh weather conditions

 

What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred:

  • 1 or more of years of experience in the oil and gas industry
  • 1 or more of years of experience you have in emergency response training
  • 1 or more of years of experience with mechanical and/or rotating equipment maintenance
  • Basic level or proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out, Hot work Permits, Excavations Permits, Critical Lifts and Line Locates

 

Compensation

The starting hourly rate for Gauger Operator is $38.28 for the first 6 months of employment, with anticipated step progression in pay through the first 2 years at 6-month intervals as well as the annual increases based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Relocation assistance and financial support to move is not available for this position

 

Midstream

The Phillips 66 Midstream business is a safe, reliable, and trusted provider for the movement, storage, gathering, and processing of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 70,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. Our capabilities include extensive natural gas gathering and processing operations, enhancing our wellhead-to-market strategy. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.
