The Projects Scheduler will plan and schedule projects from FEL through the Execution phase and Commissioning phase. Will establish and develop, maintain project logic networks, schedules, and risk management data, forecasting, earned value, schedule variance analysis, and schedule quality check. Continuous liaison with Lead scheduler and Project Leadership must be maintained to assure optimum utilization of information and manpower to satisfy the project completion date. The Planner/Scheduler will report to the Projects Lead Scheduler and work with the project leadership team, project managers, contractors, and Engineering to develop and maintain accurate schedules for various projects and funding gates. Scheduler needs to demonstrate their ability to work in portfolio schedules, manage various engineering and procurement schedules, and have a strong construction execution understanding.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Maintaining the project portfolio schedule for the various sites.
- In the Pre-execution Phase:
- Originate and update an integrated EPC schedule system.
- Identify all activities on the project and develop logic using the precedence diagram method (PDM)PC-20-032.
- Program logic to include project benchmarks for the duration of the project.
- Organize and facilitate risk assessment interviews at the direction of the Project Services Lead.
- Construct logic network modifications to facilitate risk mitigation and the contingency planning process.
- Maintain all schedules reflecting the relationship and interdependencies of the engineering, procurement, and construction functions.
- Reviewing schedule, progress, and productivity of contractors, monitor and verify monthly earned value.
- Ensuring that everything is on time so the deadlines of the project can be met.

- Monitors actual progress and comparison to baseline, and reports the analysis, against the schedule, to the project manager and Functional Managers. This allows for proper decision-making in efforts to maintain or improve the project schedule.
- Consolidates information from Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Project Management and Project Discipline Leads to develop the project schedules (baseline time-phased schedule with proper constraints) and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for assigned projects.
- Participates in weekly Schedule Reviews to ensure that schedule requirements are being met. Meets with Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, and Project Discipline Leads to obtain project status (e.g., engineering deliverables, procurement delivery schedules, installation start dates, etc.) to update the project schedule.
- Prepare Reports of Earned Value and variance of the Project Plan.
- Program approved recovery or work-around plans.
- Interface with the Contractor's Planning and Scheduling Specialists to ensure that task data is incorporated into the integrated project schedule.
- Will coordinate with the Contractor and lead planning-oriented meetings with disciplines, engineers, and project management that will highlight and report status on upcoming project milestone events.
- Scheduler needs to demonstrate a strong understanding of cashflow-driven versus schedule-driven schedules and show the ability to challenge field contractors' progress and execution plans.
- Willingness to travel as necessary in support of other sites’ needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- Bachelor's Degree
- 10 or more years of experience in scheduling for small to large-sized downstream projects
- 3 or more years of field scheduling experience
- Demonstrates ability to independently consolidate and analyze information from various sources to develop effective overall project schedules
- Technical proficiency in the preparation of automated and integrated project controls
Preferred Qualifications:
- Willing to relocate to Houston
- Proficiency in the use of project planning software. (Primavera version 6; MS Project
- BS Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or other equivalent experience (i.e., mathematics, statistics, or project administration
- Knowledge of Project Controls, Planning & Scheduling, Progress Measurement (Earned Value)
- Demonstrates effective organization & project planning skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrable ability to develop reports for and presentations to management
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools and understanding of Power BI
