The Maintenance and Construction Technician constructs, removes, and maintains gas distribution facilities and equipment, including pipe, gauges, and valves.

Responsibilities may include:
• Organizes and plans out job(s). As part of planning process, determines materials and equipment necessary for job and arrange for procurement of the materials and equipment in a cost-effective manner.
• Dispatches field crews engaged in the construction, maintenance, and emergency restoration of gas service.
• Performs maintenance work (equipment operator, etc.) at job site and provides work direction to other company personnel and contract personnel at job site, particularly in respect to safety procedures and work to be done that day.
• Inspects the work of company and contract personnel to ensure compliance with company standards, government regulations, etc.
• Maintains work order status log summaries/database and provides equipment/pipeline repair histories.
• Performs various administrative duties (i.e., review of field work tickets and invoices for accuracy and to ensure justification; collection/verification of time reports to verify contractor charges; completion of property damage reports, pipeline repair reports, etc.).
• Communicates and interacts with co-workers, producers, property owners, tenants, manufacturer’s representatives, and suppliers as well as other employees and members of the public in a professional manner.
• Performs other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Required Qualifications:
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• 1 or more years of experience in Maintenance and Construction preferably in the oil and gas industry
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and will be required to obtain a CDL
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and electronic diagnostic equipment
• Ability to understand equipment and repair manuals
• Ability to examine/analyze equipment for defects
• Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
• Must have demonstrated leadership skills with ability to provide leadership and to be able to guide and coordinate work activities being performed by company or contract personnel
• Be able to assume responsibility and perform duties in a safe manner under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
• Willingness and ability to perform and comply, with or without reasonable accommodation, with the following:
o Travels from site to site. May occasionally have overnight travel
o Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed
o Ability to work in both inside and outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity
o Ability to regularly get in and out of vehicles, work around mechanical, industrial, and electrical equipment
o Ability to bend and move from ground level to higher levels, raising/lifting from ground level a load up to 50 lbs.
o Ability to manually transporting a load up to 75 lbs.
o Ability to apply up to 100-foot pounds of torque.
o Ability to move about equipment and work in confined areas, may work below grade
o Ability to wear special safety equipment while working; must be able to lift and put on emergency breathing apparatus and/or protective equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experienced Backhoe operator.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of pipeline repair and maintenance.
• Working knowledge of plant maintenance
• Thorough knowledge of safety rules and practices and a satisfactory safety record
Midstream
Phillips 66's Midstream business is a safe, reliable and trusted logistics provider for the movement and storage of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 22,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities.
