What to Expect

As a Lubricants Technician, you will be responsible for loading and unloading bulk finished products and raw materials in bulk trucks and railcars. You’ll perform filling, loading and unloading of packaged materials in a safe and efficient manner. This role will report directly to the Assistant Plant Manager and will work on rotating day and evening shifts at the Sulphur, LA lubricants plant.

What You’ll Do

  • Utilizing forklift equipment to perform loading operations of van box and ocean-going containers with drummed lubricants products.
  • Utilizing forklift equipment to perform offloading operations of warehouse materials and products in support of plant operations.
  • Maintaining and organizing warehouse inventory to ensure product integrity.
  • Providing appropriate written and electronic documentation during product receipt, production, and shipments.
  • Loading and unloading bulk products and raw materials from trucks and railcars utilizing a computerized loading system or manual backup.
  • Managing pump and tank lineups to ensure product integrity of over 300 bulk products.
  • Conducting pre-loading inspections on trucks and railcars for cleanliness and DOT compliance.
  • Providing representative sampling and custody transfer of materials for lab analysis.
  • Managing the rail fleet within the facility and interfacing with the contract switch crew.
  • Determining inventory storage locations to ensure no raw material mix and correct tank levels.
  • Maintaining effective professional relationships with customers and responding promptly to their needs. 
  • Performing minor equipment maintenance.
  • Reviewing/validating relevant procedures and documents and ensuring they are kept up to date. 
  • Reporting environmental, safety, and quality near misses and incidents in IMPACT. 

 

What you’ll Bring (Required Qualifications)

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Valid driver's license
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform/comply with the following:
    • To read technical procedures and materials in English
    • To operate forklift
    • To work 2 rotating day and evening shifts (6:00am – 2:30pm and 2:30pm – 10:30pm)
    • To work occasional overtime, as needed
    • To lift up to 48 pounds 
    • To push and pull up to 50 pounds
    • To climb 34 steps on a routine basis

 

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Associate's degree, technical certification or higher
  • Prior direct work experience in an operations plant environment or relevant military experience
  • Intermediate or greater level of proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate data and detect problems

 

 

Compensation Range

This position has a base salary range of $61,200 – $74,800.
