The Distillate Blender is responsible for ensuring on-test and on-target production of gasoline blended within the Refinery. This includes optimization of blend stock components and gasoline products, developing blending protocols, and developing blending schedules for finished products leaving the facility.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Evaluating gasoline blend stock components and developing blending protocols based on results.
  • Tracking online analyzer data versus laboratory test results and troubleshooting variances.
  • Coordinating blend stock and final product testing.
  • Utilizing Aspen software to develop blending schedules based on production forecasts, inventory, and pipeline schedules.
  • Developing forecasts of the gasoline blend pool and working with the Short-Term Planner to modify unit operations to maximize profit.
  • Evaluating LP Model results to optimize pipeline schedules and required blends, as well as blend stock properties.
  • Evaluating finished product blends to capture both financial and quality opportunities to reduce giveaway.
  • Optimizing feedstock blending inventories and coordinating tank usage of finished products and taking appropriate action to minimize both financial and customer impacts.
  • Assisting in the development of long-range plans.
  • Interfacing with Houston VCO and Midstream to optimize production and schedule.
  • Interfacing with the Fuels Quality group to ensure current specifications and standards for gasoline are met.
  • Evaluating potential future projects associated with the gasoline blending system.
  • Providing support to Operations during non-business hours.
  • Providing backup support to the Distillate Blender & Logistics position.

Compensation Range 

This position has a base salary range of $171,000 - $209,000.

Where a candidate offer falls within the posted range depends on the candidate's experience, skills, and alignment with the role’s requirements. The Ponca City Refinery is located in Ponca City, Oklahoma, approximately 95 miles northwest of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Its facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes a mixture of light, medium and heavy crude oil delivered via pipeline from Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, the U.S. Rockies and Canada. Infrastructure improvements have enabled the delivery of locally produced crude oil by pipeline and truck. The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels and anode-grade petroleum coke. Refined products are primarily distributed to customers by company-owned and common carrier pipelines to markets throughout the Midcontinent region.
