The FP&A Refining Analyst is responsible for supporting cost reporting, business transformation, and financial business support for the Ponca City Refinery under the direction of the FP&A Finance Manager.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Demonstrate personal commitment to health, safety, and environmental objectives
- Create and maintain cost reports from SAP and Analysis for Office
- Prepare and submit journal entry vouchers for month end close
- Perform detailed routine analysis during month end close and report the results to management
- Assist with creating forecasts, outlooks, and the LRP
- Understand maintenance work processes and maintains forecast workbook by working closely with maintenance and operations leadership teams
- Assist with Business Transformation initiatives driven by the BU and FP&A
- Assist with Solomon Reporting
- Maintain work procedures and work processes on an on-going basis and ensures compliance with those procedures, processes, and standards
- Utilize SAP, AFO, FRAP, DRS, and other systems to dive into the numbers and help identify cost savings opportunities, margin enhancements, and errors
- Assist with audit requests
Required Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Outlook)
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written and presentation) with all levels of the organization
- Works independently without much supervision
- Works well under pressure and able to meet deadlines
- Ability to interact with a high level of professionalism with all levels of the organization
- Able to work extended hours during closing, turnaround and emergencies
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality of all information (written & verbal) obtained on the job
- Ability to exercise independent judgment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 or more years of experience in a procurement, auditing, accounting, or finance position
The Ponca City Refinery is located in Ponca City, Oklahoma, approximately 95 miles northwest of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Its facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes a mixture of light, medium and heavy crude oil delivered via pipeline from Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, the U.S. Rockies and Canada. Infrastructure improvements have enabled the delivery of locally produced crude oil by pipeline and truck. The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels and anode-grade petroleum coke. Refined products are primarily distributed to customers by company-owned and common carrier pipelines to markets throughout the Midcontinent region.
