The Asset Engineer, OKC Area Midstream plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Chitwood and Sholem Gas Processing Plants. The position is based out of the Oklahoma City office, with visits to the plants as needed. The Asset Engineer provides technical support, performs troubleshooting and failure analysis, and develops recommendations to enhance equipment performance. Additionally, the Asset Engineer collaborates with key stakeholders to develop the long-range capital plan by working closely with various departments, including Operations, EHS, Reliability, and Commercial, to find solutions to complex problems.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Monitors plant performance: Oversees the performance of the plant, compressors, and control systems, proposing changes to improve efficiencies
- Technical support: Provides technical support for troubleshooting operational issues with personnel at all levels
- Project development: Develop and define project concepts, scopes and preliminary costs
- Coordinates with stakeholders to plan project execution and resolve related technical problems
- Business improvements: Anticipates business challenges and recommends improvements
- Evaluation and construction: Supports and may lead technical evaluations, performance testing, design and construction of new facilities or equipment
- Process Safety Management (PSM): Provides technical support for the plant's Process Safety Management and develops recommendations to reduce process safety risks
- Engineering standards: Reviews and ensures the application of engineering standards and procedures are being implemented
- Additional duties: Performs other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
- Valid driver's license
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering
- Willing and able to perform and comply with the following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Travel to field and training locations
- Work in both indoor and outdoor environments including inclement weather
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Lift and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally climb ladders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- Previous engineering experience in the gas processing industry
- Basic proficiency in process simulation software packages
- Working knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations
- Working knowledge of PSM including MOC, PHA and Pre-Start-up Safety Review
- Experience utilizing leadership skills, including influencing at a local level and across a broad organization
Midstream
The Phillips 66 Midstream business is a safe, reliable, and trusted provider for the movement, storage, gathering, and processing of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 70,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. Our capabilities include extensive natural gas gathering and processing operations, enhancing our wellhead-to-market strategy. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.
