Process Control Operator, Marysville Midstream

The Process Control Operator will be responsible for operating process equipment (e.g.- valves, pumps, compressors, caverns, loading and offloading equipment), perform preventative maintenance activities, troubleshoot operational issues, and ensure safe and reliable operations of all Phillips 66 equipment at assigned location. The Process Control Operator will be reporting to our Marysville Facility Supervisor in Marysville, MI.

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Performs the safe Startup, Shutdown, and operation of various degrees of equipment and processing systems in Liquified Petroleum Gas storage facility that is PSM and PHMSA regulated.  Conducts routine inspection and rounds of the facility.
  • Operates rail and truck loading/offloading racks.
  • Works with others to optimize operations throughout the facility and maintain proper product specifications
  • Responds to alarms and problems within the facility and takes appropriate corrective actions.
  • Conducts routine inspection of equipment and facilities (equipment health, security, AVO- Audio, Visual, Olfactory)
  • Product composition and quality sampling and testing.
  • Work autonomously at varying times and in diverse weather conditions. Available for callout and overtime coverage.
  • Participates in and successfully completes training programs, risk management reviews, and safety meetings required to comply with state and federal regulations and company policy.
  • Reviews and follows procedures as necessary to ensure compliance of all company and industry standards to meet requirements.
  • Accurately completes documentation such as timesheets, SAP work orders, safe job plans and work permits.
  • Optimizes work in most effective (efficient and leveraging priority) manner, in alignment with the Maintenance Work Process (MWP) and within the tenets of S.A.F.E. and Stop Work Authority. 
  • Maintains facility appearance and safety through good housekeeping practices.
  • Effectively utilizes tools and tests equipment as needed.
  • Responds to operational emergencies
  • Performs and accurately documents regulatory required inspections.
  • Follows applicable procedures to de-inventory and prepare equipment for maintenance activities.
  • Issues Safe Work Permits and implements LTT (Lock, Tag, Try) procedures to allow for safe execution of work in the facility.
  • Ability to oversee contractors providing specialty services. 
  • Reads and comprehends technical procedures, and / or governmental regulations.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent 
  • Valid Driver’s License 
  • Willing and able to work shift schedule
  • Willing and able to, with or without reasonable accommodations:
    • Work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varied shifts when required
    • Work in outside conditions that include inclement weather including rain, snow, cold, heat, and humidity.
    • Regularly stoops, squats, kneels and crouches for durations up to 3 minutes
    • Periodically pull/push doors open to move around the plant
    • Lift a minimum of 50 pounds
    • Occasionally exerts pulling force of 130 pounds
    • Climb stairs, fixed vertical ladders, and portable ladders.
       

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of oil and gas operations experience
  • Completion of Tech school program
  • Work experience in midstream operations.

The Phillips 66 Midstream business is a safe, reliable, and trusted provider for the movement, storage, gathering, and processing of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals.
