Basic Function

This role is responsible for the administration of import, export, sustainability and commercial documentation relating the movement of products, and associated reconciliation.

The Apprenticeship Programme will begin in September 2025 and will be for a duration of 20 months. 

Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities

•    Ensuring copies of all required import, export and movement documentation are loaded to the P66L SharePoint.

•    Reconcile the HMRC MSS reports have been uploaded to the sharepoint site by Corys & Caspers

•    Verify data reported for imports/exports is correct and notify reporting errors to HMRC.  Checking customs treatment to documentation required to obtain duty reductions.

•    Management of the P66L SharePoint for customs and commercial documentation.  Ensuring recording conventions are met to allow for correct automation.

•    Management of our physical cargo documentation i.e. checking, archiving, endorsing to third-parties where required;

•    Weekly collation of truck schedules from our UCO/Tallow suppliers;

•    Compilation of certain documentation such as Annex VII’s/GWL/ADN transport documents when required.

•    Analysis and preparing the SAP book of customs duties by business.

•    Preparation of the:

o    Post VAT Accounting calculations for the UK VAT return based on imports, by product.

o    The UK calculations of Bills of Discharge for End Use and Inward processing.

•    Assist with the preparation and completion of VAT, excise duty and corporation tax returns as requested.

•    Assist with the VAT, excise duty and corporation accountings as requested.

Critical Skills/Leadership Criteria

  • Hold the legal right to live and work in the UK on a permanent basis without restrictions, or meet the relevant criteria for employer sponsorship.
  • 5 GCSEs (with English and Maths) at grade 6 or above.
  • 3 A levels at grade C or above.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders. 
  • High attention to detail.
  •  Well organised with an ability to prioritise workload.

 

Phillips 66 has significant marketing operations in Europe. In the UK the business is primarily wholesale, selling fuels to distributors (some of whom are branded JET) and resellers. The fuels are either collected by customers or delivered through a contracted road tanker fleet operating out of a number of UK distribution points. In addition, Phillips 66 Limited supplies a network of approximately 330 independently owned petrol forecourts, all of which are branded JET.

 

Other markets served are aviation, marine and LPG. JET supplies some of the UK's growing secondary airports using owned and shared refuelling tankers and storage, and delivers to airlines through contracted refuelling operations. Marine markets are served using contracted vehicles, as is the LPG business.
