Basic Function

The Analyst, Regulatory Compliance will work within Commercial’s Global Renewables Origination & Trading group with responsibility for ensuring compliance with international environmental laws, regulations and monetary implications affecting renewable fuels, feedstocks, or credits.

Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Support the U.K. Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) program
  • Manage and track obligations generated through P66 commercial activity under the Renewable Energy Directive (RED II) and individual European Member State programs
  • Manage International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) requirements
  • Manage sustainability mass balancing and chain of custody documentation
  • Support the company’s global renewables initiatives
  • Prepare for and lead sustainability audits
  • Work with other internal stakeholders including Marketing, Refining, Regulatory, Tax, Customs, Legal, Finance & VCS&O to align on P66 renewables initiatives
  • Anticipate new commercial opportunities related to existing and announced renewables programs
  • Represent P66 externally with counterparties and renewables-related industry associations

Critical Skills/Leadership Criteria

Required:

  • Hold the legal right to live and work in the UK on a permanent basis without restrictions, or the role you are applying for meets the relevant criteria for employer sponsorship.
  • Knowledge of UK/EU biofuels directives (RTFO/RED)
  • Previous experience with European renewable fuels and feedstocks regulatory programs
  • Experience as collaborative team player with ability to work constructively within a very close and often demanding team-working environment, and interact well with other parts of the group
  • Self-starter with desire to grow a business and develop their own role within it
  • Seeks continuous development and improvement of processes and procedures
  • Relevant industry experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy of documentation
  • Project origination and development experience
  • Familiarity with commodity trading

 

Preferred:

  • Governmental regulatory program knowledge
  • Direct experience with environmental, legal, and regulatory programs
  • Knowledge of economic value of renewable fuels in supply chain
  • Knowledge of UK/EU biofuels directives (RTFO/RED)
  • Previous experience with marketing/trading/refinery/blending
  • Ability to communicate in multiple languages
