The Sr. Advisor II, Commercial Performance will be the primary liaison between the front office, Commercial Finance & Risk and AES organizations, overseeing and optimizing Commercial cash conversion activities to decrease working capital usage. This role partners closely with the Commercial front office and trading leadership to ensure strong cash flow discipline across the business. The position will proactively identify opportunities to accelerate cash generation, optimize working capital, mitigate financial risk and drive higher returns.

 

The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, proven Commercial front office experience, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders within a fast‑paced trading environment.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Front office lead for end to end cash conversion process, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and working capital management, with a strong focus on Commercial and trading activities.
  • Serve as the primary front office contact for reducing problem receivables, collecting interest and ensure resolution of open DEW items assigned to the front office. 
  • Drive initiatives to strengthen customer payment discipline and support commercial negotiations with data driven insights.
  • Partner closely with CFR, Credit and Commercial front office teams to support deal structuring and optimize payment terms.
  • Work with CFR and Trading to analyze cash flow cycles and develop strategies to improve Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), Days Payable Outstanding (DPO), and overall working capital efficiency.
  • Collaborate with CFR, AES and Treasury teams to forecast cash inflows and outflows, ensuring sufficient liquidity to support trading and commercial objectives.
  • Develop, monitor, and report KPIs related to cash conversion performance; prepare clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices to enhance cash conversion, collections performance, and risk mitigation.
  • Support compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and company policies related to cash management.
  • Partner with IT and Finance teams to improve automation, data integrity, and reporting within cash conversion processes.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and emerging trends related to cash conversion, trading, and commercial risk management.

 

What You’ll Bring – Required

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or another related field
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience in cash management, working capital, or related finance roles, including direct experience supporting Commercial front office or trading organizations
  • Intermediate or greater proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel

 

What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred

  • MBA or relevant certification such as CPA or CFA
  • Strong understanding of commercial deal economics, customer payment structures, and front office decision making
  • Proven ability to partner with senior Commercial and Trading stakeholders and influence outcomes
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills with a demonstrated track record of driving process improvements
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable operating in a fast paced, dynamic commercial environment

 

Compensation Range

This position has a base salary range of $160,200 to $195,800.

The Commercial organization  works to effectively leverage assets and market knowledge to create additional value within the risk parameters of the Company. We do this by maximizing general interest profitability, enhancing return on capital employed by successfully partnering with the Refining, Transportation and Marketing functions to ensure Value Chain Integration.   Our truck and rail fleets support our feedstock and distribution operations.  Rail movements are provided via a fleet of more than 10,000 owned and leased rail cars. Truck movements are provided through numerous third-party trucking companies, as well as through our 100 percent-owned subsidiary, Sentinel Transportation LLC.
