The Senior Credit Analyst acts as an integral team member in the Commercial Credit organization to help support Commercial trading activity and manage counterparty credit.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Utilize internal exposure reporting, accounts receivable, deal capture, and scheduling systems to monitor and manage counterparty credit exposure.
- Review and assess new counterparties and/or new deals for existing counterparties.
- Identify and communicate drivers of credit risk and make sound judgments to support credit exposure decisions as necessary.
- Negotiate credit enhancements such as parent company guarantees and letters of credit.
- Partner with Commercial and Credit Evaluations team to recommend or approve credit limits for new and existing counterparties.
- Provide detailed account status updates for management as necessary.
- Work with Legal and Accounting personnel to resolve collection issues, bankruptcies, and bad debt.
Required Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- High School Diploma/GED
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Finance or Accounting
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Proficiency with SAP
- 5+ years of experience providing credit support in the energy industry, specifically in the power and natural gas sector
- Ability to work autonomously and to engage effectively as part of a team under the demands of a fast-paced environment
- Experience with financial statements or financial statement analysis
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working with people at all levels both internally and externally
- An innovative mindset able to understand the use of contractual terms, letters of credit, and guarantees
