The Senior Advisor III, Commercial Architecture is a unique role that provides the opportunity to work across the Commercial business value chain including Global Trading, US Scheduling, Global Market Analysis, Midstream Commercial (NGL), Global Marine, Surface Transportation Logistics, Risk and Compliance, Commercial F&PA, and Accounting Operations. The criticality of the Commercial organization in maximizing general interest profitability by sourcing, lower-cost feedstocks to our refineries, while leveraging our asset optionality and global market presence to generate value coupled with digital transformation creates a unique opportunity and challenge within the Phillips 66 environment. 

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive Technical Direction and Governance: Provide clear, authoritative direction and standards to internal and external consultants and development teams to ensure high-quality, scalable, and compliant system implementation.
  • Translate business and user requirements into accurate system/design documents to provide world class solutions.
  • Promote best practices for sustainable application design by drafting, socializing, and enforcing technical best practices and architectural standards across the organization.
  • Maintain Architectural Integrity: Consolidate and maintain all critical technical diagrams, system maps, and architecture documents, ensuring they remain current and accurate.
  • Maintain visibility across multiple workstreams/efforts and facilitate communication and alignment across multiple working teams.
  • Ensure Future-Proofing: Proactively engage stakeholders with forward-looking questions and scenario planning to ensure solutions meet not only current needs but also anticipated future requirements and business growth.
  • Create and socialize strategies to reduce the level of human intervention required to operate, maintain, and optimize processes and critical systems.
  • Lead the adoption of new cloud-based technologies in operations environment to promote efficiency and accelerate value delivery.
  • Assure solutions are designed to meet or exceed security and audit requirements and conducting design Audits.

  

What You’ll Bring – Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field
  • 10+ years of IT experience
  • 3+ years experience with the execution of large, complex, and highly integrated IT solutions
  • Experience developing and implementing enterprise architecture plans, standards, and governance
  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country 

 

What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred

  • 5 or more years of experience architecting and integrating systems, with exposure to Oil & Gas or similar technical industries
  • Experience with ERP, mobile/web applications, cloud migrations, or data management
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure), application modernization, and optimization in cloud environments
  • Familiarity with ETRM systems (e.g., Right Angle, Allegro, Endur), and knowledge of logistics business processes (Truck, Rail, Marine)
  • Experience in data engineering, visualization, advanced analytics, and machine learning concepts
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, version control, and Agile methodologies
  • Experience integrating with SAP and building/designing systems on cloud platforms
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry best practices
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ownership, initiative, and a drive for continuous improvement
  • Proven ability to translate business and user requirements into effective system and architecture designs 

 

Compensation Range:

$176,400 – $215,600 annual base salary

Where a candidate offer falls within the posted range depends on the candidate's experience, skills, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
