The Scheduler III, Natural Gas will play a key role in planning, managing, and optimizing natural gas product movements. You’ll support supplier relationships and drive continuous improvement to keep the commercial network running smoothly.
What You’ll Do
- Nominate on third party pipelines daily/monthly gas purchases/sales deals, transportation, and/or pooling movements.
- Perform confirmations of nominations with upstream and downstream parties.
- Manage regular after hours, weekend, and Holiday calls regarding nomination changes and operational issues affecting gas flow.
- Monitor estimated flows vs. nominations to calculate system imbalances and resolve imbalances with appropriate parties on a daily and monthly basis.
- Provide daily nominations set up and gas control report to each facility responsible.
- Provide direction to gas control and/or field operations to ensure flow of information 24 hours a day to maintain safe, efficient, and dependable gas flows.
- Communicate with traders, customers, and optimizers any nomination cuts and/or imbalances.
- Communicate with field personnel, pipelines, traders, suppliers, markets, producers, and shippers to resolve various daily operational issues.
- Monitor and report storage inventory and operational reports regarding daily updates, next day volume updates, and gas balances to management and various reporting agencies.
- Identify potential downstream pipeline capacity constraints and collaborate with customers, suppliers, operations, interconnecting pipelines, and marketing to schedule gas to maximize throughput and minimize costs.
- Monitor and report third party pipeline Electronic Bulletin Boards “EBBs” for alerts and/or critical notices of maintenance and competitor activity.
- Verify, validate, and/or actualize all receipts and delivery nominations with third party pipelines and/or marketing customers, as well as resolving invoicing discrepancies during the Accounting close process, in order to ensure timely and accurate data for billing.
- Provide backup scheduling support, including responding to operational needs outside standard hours.
What You’ll Bring – Required
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 3 or more years of relevant experience in supply-chain, scheduling, logistics, or planning
- Intermediate or greater proficiency with Microsoft Office and scheduling or supply-chain systems
- Willing and able to have some on call responsibilities and support the business after hours as needed
What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred
- Experience supporting supply, trading, or logistical functions
- Experience as a Natural Gas Scheduler
- Experience scheduling on one or more of the following pipeline systems: El Paso, SoCalGas, PG&E, Texas Eastern (Tetco), CIG, Rockies Express, and WIC
- Experience using and optimizing Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) tools/interfaces for natural gas scheduling and nominations
- Experience with Allegro
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Ability to influence, build relationships, and collaborate across teams
- Demonstrated initiative, innovative thinking, and continuous improvement mindset
- Knowledge of downstream operations, supply chains, and commercial drivers
- Experience with contract management, supplier analysis, or sourcing
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manage complexity
- Ability to locate opportunities for process improvement
Compensation Range
This position has a base salary range of $125,100 - $152,900. This role is eligible to participate in the company’s commercial bonus program, offering the opportunity to earn additional compensation based on business and individual performance, in accordance with program guidelines.

The Commercial organization works to effectively leverage assets and market knowledge to create additional value within the risk parameters of the Company. Our truck and rail fleets support our feedstock and distribution operations. Rail movements are provided via a fleet of more than 10,000 owned and leased rail cars. Truck movements are provided through numerous third-party trucking companies, as well as through our 100 percent-owned subsidiary, Sentinel Transportation LLC.
