Scheduler, Specialty Solvents

The Solvents Scheduler is responsible for supporting all elements of the Solvents order-to-cash process while delivering materials on time and maintaining customer relationships. This involves working with internal and external stakeholders including customers, the sales team, terminals, transportation, finance and other back-office support, and Refining to ensure efficient and cost effective movement of product in support of sales goals. This role will be based in our Houston, TX office.

 

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Working across functions to optimize inventories, identify market opportunities and balance profit with operational risk.
  • Providing daily customer service to Solvents accounts, acting as front-line contact for issue resolution.
  • Managing customer purchase orders and reviewing customer requirements which may include preparing and sending response letters for blanket purchase order. acknowledgements and managing order changes or cancellations.
  • Determining validity of orders, verifying compliance with the master data that governs the transaction.
  • Verifying that orders meet established shipping guidelines and advising customer if changes are needed.
  • Tracking all orders to ensure delivery is made on time and customer is invoiced correctly by verifying product, quantity, and pricing are correct.
  • Resolving all post-sale inquiries such as pricing, logistics and shipping documentation issues.
  • Scheduling and building orders, coordinating time and shipment details with terminals and refineries and determining best shipping location for product sourcing needs.
  • Maintaining accurate forecasts of supply/demand and inventory positions.
  • Communicating with Credit Department for release or hold of orders and other departments, ensuring customer requirements are met.
  • Confirming customer setup information in SAP master data has been entered accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining customer files and all associated records.
  • Fostering strong working relationships with external counterparts that distinguish Phillips 66 as an industry leader in integrity, scheduling excellence, and professionalism.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and applicable mainframe applications (e.g., SAP)
  • Able to work remotely via cellphone and/or laptop computer 24/7 when needed
  • Able to work extended and non-standard hours

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 or more years of experience working in scheduling, transportation and/or customer service
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to set, manage and meet multiple and competing priorities
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills with ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to adapt to changing work environments and make continuous improvement
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as a team member to work issues and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to positively interact and establish relationships with internal/external customers

The Commercial organization  works to effectively leverage assets and market knowledge to create additional value within the risk parameters of the Company. We do this by maximizing general interest profitability, enhancing return on capital employed by successfully partnering with the Refining, Transportation and Marketing functions to ensure Value Chain Integration.   Our truck and rail fleets support our feedstock and distribution operations.  Rail movements are provided via a fleet of more than 10,000 owned and leased rail cars. Truck movements are provided through numerous third-party trucking companies, as well as through our 100 percent-owned subsidiary, Sentinel Transportation LLC.
