Scheduler, Renewable Feedstocks

The Renewable Feedstocks Scheduler will be responsible for safely and effectively coordinating operations with internal and external customers to manage logistics for renewable feedstocks from origin to destination or point of use. The Renewable Feedstocks Scheduler will act as a liaison between Refining, Commercial, VCO, and Midstream to optimize assets while maximizing general interest value. The role will include scheduling activities from suppliers to Rodeo, customers, and/or terminals in barges, trucks, and railcars.

 

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Coordinating barge/railcar/truck movements for renewable feedstocks and commercial storage operations for deliveries to and from affiliates and third-party customers.
  • Ensuring safe, timely deliveries by monitoring and analyzing the availability of equipment, on-site and off-site storage, supply/sale point options, delivery timing requirements, schedule availability, traffic and weather conditions.
  • Maintaining accurate forecasts of supply/demand and inventory positions.
  • Working across functions including Trading to optimize inventories, identify market opportunities, and balance profit with operational risk.
  • Working closely with sustainability and compliance groups to ensure chain of custody and sustainability characteristics are tracked, managed, and optimized on all movements.
  • Developing nominations for waterborne movements and seeking vetting approval from Marine.
  • Coordinating inspectors and ensuring specification and quantity measurement requirements are met and reconciling any sharing of costs between counterparties.
  • Performing loss control oversight.
  • Entering movements into SAP, Navarik, Mainstay, and other 3rd party systems accurately and on-time as applicable.
  • Coordinating internally with Position Keepers, Movement Capture, Inventory Accounting, and F&PA Analysts to ensure accurate deal movement capture and financial reporting as timely as possible.
  • Fostering strong working relationships with external counterparts that distinguish Phillips 66 as an industry leader in integrity, scheduling excellence, and professionalism.
  • Understanding and abiding by the rules/requirements of regulatory reporting.
  • Thinking strategically with the ability to anticipate problems and work to provide resolutions.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Basic knowledge/understanding of renewable fuels markets
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to interface effectively with internal and external customers, counterparties, suppliers, and consultants
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work constructively within a very close and often demanding teamwork environment
  • Good communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Able to work remotely via cellphone and/or laptop computer 24/7
  • Able to work extended and non-standard hours

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience working in scheduling, transportation, and/or customer service
  • Understanding of the characteristics of renewables feedstocks and/or products in terms of production and product demand including an appreciation of specifications
  • Knowledge of marine issues pertaining to the movement of renewables feeds and/or products
  • Experience with SAP, Navarik, or Mainstay applications
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, planning, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • High ethics, personal drive, and dedication to achieve team goals increase general interest value to the company, and support internal and external customers
  • Ability to adapt to changing work environments and make continuous improvements
  • Ability to set, manage, and meet multiple and competing priorities

 

The Commercial organization  works to effectively leverage assets and market knowledge to create additional value within the risk parameters of the Company. We do this by maximizing general interest profitability, enhancing return on capital employed by successfully partnering with the Refining, Transportation and Marketing functions to ensure Value Chain Integration.   Our truck and rail fleets support our feedstock and distribution operations.  Rail movements are provided via a fleet of more than 10,000 owned and leased rail cars. Truck movements are provided through numerous third-party trucking companies, as well as through our 100 percent-owned subsidiary, Sentinel Transportation LLC.
