The role will include crude scheduling activities for terminals and pipelines supplying the Cushing, Oklahoma market and associated Phillips 66 refineries.

What You’ll Do:

  • Act with intention and focus on value-generation for Phillips 66 Commercial and Refining:
    • Coordinate closely with trading, VCO, refinery and midstream operations partners to align scheduling decisions with commercial strategies, optimize transportation efficiency, and minimize per‑barrel transportation costs.
    • Monitor contract and supplier performance, summarize findings, and provide feedback and market and cost insights to support sourcing decisions, negotiations, and continuous improvement in logistics and supply chain processes.
    • Coordinate and oversee crude blending activities, ensuring tight adherence to desired quality specifications.
    • Cultivate and maintain internal and external counterparty relationships in support of operations.
  • Oversee inventory management activities related to individually assigned desk, including but not limited to the following tasks:
    • Prepare and maintain the Phillips 66 position sheet for all internal company entities that hold inventory at Cushing, including 5 refineries and 10+ trading books, across 30+ crude oil grades in each month. • Schedule, nominate, and confirm physical and paper (i.e. “Book-out”) movements via various distribution channels through internal and third-party scheduling systems for pipelines, terminals, and other modes of transportation.
    • Prepare and maintain daily the monthly supply/demand balance and lease forecasts required to plan around the supply, markets, and pipelines disruptions, and provide updates on positions and respond to unexpected events, making contingency plans to minimize disruption to supply or movements.
    • Manage, update, and tie out SAP with crude oil movements from nominations to shipper Balance actuals.
    • Monitor gains/losses of physical transactions and lead investigations into significant discrepancies with appropriate external and internal counterparties, with a focus on root cause analysis and error rate reduction over time.
    • Act as a liaison between accounting/billing personnel and traders: aid in the resolution of price discrepancies, contract issues, payment terms, volume differences, etc.
    • Support resolution of Book-to-book and Book-to-Physical activities for self and team, addressing root causes where possible.
    • Understand and abide by the rules/requirements of regulatory reporting.
    • Prepare and submit daily written reports regarding operational status for own desk as well as team members.
    • Provide backup coverage for other schedulers, participate in on‑call support for dynamic 24/7 operations, and build your capabilities through ongoing training and learning about evolving regulations, technology, and industry best practices.
    • Manage relationships with suppliers, carriers, inspectors, and other contract service providers to ensure contract requirements, quality specifications, and measurement standards are met, resolving issues such as volume or price discrepancies.
