Renewables Scheduling Supervisor

The Renewables Scheduling Supervisor  will be responsible for overseeing a team of schedulers who work with internal and external customers to manage the logistics for renewable feedstocks and/or renewable fuels from origin to end users.  The Renewables Supervisor will support all Renewables team members and as necessary act as a liaison between Refining, Trading, VCO, Marketing and Midstream in support of executing asset optimization and maximizing general interest value. The role will include people leading responsibilities and support the team’s scheduling activities for refineries, terminals, pipelines, marine vessels, trucks and rail cars as needed. The position is based in our Houston, TX office.

 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Managing a team of Renewables schedulers ensuring the team has appropriate support to execute logistics required to move feedstocks and products from origin to destination
  • Ensuring your team is effectively coordinating pipeline/vessel/barge/railcar/truck movements and commercial storage operations for deliveries to and from affiliates and third-party customers
  • Overseeing the maintenance of accurate forecasts of supply/demand and inventory positions.
  • Working as a thinking partner with schedulers to support optimizing inventories, identifying market opportunities and balancing profit with operational risk 
  • Driving efforts to address systems issues and enhance scheduling processes and monitoring
  • team metrics to ensure issues are being addressed timely
  • Working closely with sustainability and compliance groups to ensure communication and processes are in place to manage chain of custody and sustainability characteristics for all movements
  • Ensuring your team is coordinating with Position Keepers, Movement Capture, Inventory Accounting and F&PA Analysts for accurate deal movement capture and financial reporting as timely as possible
  • Fostering strong working relationships with external counterparts that distinguish Phillips 66 as an industry leader in integrity, scheduling excellence, and professionalism
  • Learning your team’s scheduling responsibilities and providing vacation relief coverage as needed
  • Understanding and abiding by the rules/requirements of regulatory reporting
  • Thinking strategically with team members to anticipate problems and work to provide resolutions

 

Required Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Able to work remotely via cellphone and/or laptop computer 24/7 when requested
  • Able to work extended and non-standard hours when requested

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of experience working in scheduling, transportation, and/or customer service
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to interface effectively with internal and external customers, counterparties, suppliers and consultants
  • Good communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Basic knowledge / understanding of renewables markets
  • Understanding of the characteristics of renewables feedstocks and/or products in terms of production and product demand including an appreciation of specifications
  • Knowledge of marine issues pertaining to the movement of renewables feeds and/or products
  • Experience with SAP, Navarik or Mainstay applications
  • Demonstrated collaborative people leader with ability to work constructively within a very close and often demanding team-working environment
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, planning, influencing and negotiation skills
  • High ethics, personal drive and dedication to achieve team goals and to increase general interest value to the company and support internal and external customers
  • Ability to adapt to changing work environments and make continuous improvements
  • Ability to set, manage and meet multiple and competing priorities

 

The Commercial organization  works to effectively leverage assets and market knowledge to create additional value within the risk parameters of the Company. We do this by maximizing general interest profitability, enhancing return on capital employed by successfully partnering with the Refining, Transportation and Marketing functions to ensure Value Chain Integration.   Our truck and rail fleets support our feedstock and distribution operations.  Rail movements are provided via a fleet of more than 10,000 owned and leased rail cars. Truck movements are provided through numerous third-party trucking companies, as well as through our 100 percent-owned subsidiary, Sentinel Transportation LLC.
