We’re seeking a Machine Learning Ops Engineer to join our growing Advanced Analytics team focused on driving digital transformation across our midstream and refining operations. In this role, you’ll develop and deploy scalable ML solutions that optimize critical processes and will drive the automation and solution design.
You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams—Data Scientists, Platform Engineers, and Data Engineers—and play a critical role in designing robust infrastructure, automating pipelines, and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our ML workflows
Position can be based in Houston, TX or Bartlesville, OK onsite.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Architect, build and maintain enterprise-grade machine learning pipelines for midstream and refinery use cases.
- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to productionize predictive models for equipment failure, energy optimization, and throughput forecasting.
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines that automate model training, deployment, monitoring, and rollback processes.
- Build tools and reusable libraries that integrate with existing OT/IT systems, historians (e.g., PI System), and SCADA.
- Deploy models in cloud and hybrid environments, ensuring reliability, cost-efficiency, and scalability.
- Develop model monitoring dashboards to track accuracy, drift, and operational KPIs.
- Lead technical decision-making for MLOps strategy, standards, and tooling across multiple teams.
- Continuously improve workflows and processes to support data-driven decisions across refineries, pipelines, and terminals.
Required Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
- 2 or more years of experience in software engineering, machine learning, or MLOps, preferably in industrial, energy, or manufacturing sectors
- Hands-on experience developing ML pipelines and deploying models using Python, SQL, and frameworks like MLflow, SageMaker, Databricks, or Azure ML
- Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong software development skills and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry experience in oil & gas, energy, chemicals, or utilities
- Understanding of refinery operations, pipeline management, or rotating equipment diagnostics
- Experience working with OT systems, industrial protocols, and integrating with plant-floor data
- Familiarity with time-series data from sensors, control systems, and process historians
- Knowledge of energy optimization models, LLMs for engineering document processing, or NLP for field reporting analytics
- Familiarity with Terraform, or industrial IoT platforms
