The Market Analyst plays a key role in shaping business decisions through market insights and data-driven analysis. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with talented professionals, expand your expertise in commodity markets, and make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do (When Position Opens)
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on commodity markets, focusing on supply, demand, and trading trends to support business objectives.
- Develop and maintain market models, collaborating with trading teams to interpret data and identify market anomalies that may impact strategies.
- Gather and analyze data from diverse sources, perform economic modeling, and support strategy development for commercial groups.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects, leveraging insights from third-party consultants and industry experts to refine the company’s market view.
- Prepare clear, actionable reports and recommendations to inform decision-making across the organization, communicating findings to internal stakeholders and senior management.
- Partner with global teams and support internal customers to drive business growth and improve profitability.
- Use advanced analytical tools and maintain a strong understanding of relevant technologies and industry best practices, continuously building your capabilities through ongoing learning and collaboration.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with a high level of initiative, attention to detail, and a collaborative, customer-focused approach.
What You’ll Bring – Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1+ years of relevant experience in market analysis, economic research, or a related field.
- Intermediate proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting using preset tools and formats.
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred
- 3 or more years of commercial supply and trading experience in the crude market.
- Technical background (such as process engineering).
- Working programming knowledge of Visual Basic, Python, SQL, Tableau, and/or R.
- Experience with statistical modeling software, database management, and economic model development.
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams and build strong customer relationships.
- Demonstrated initiative, reliability, and attention to detail in delivering high-quality work.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
