The Electrician, Houston HQ Facilities (Journeyman Inside Wireman) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex electrical systems throughout our high-rise office building. The Electrician ensures all work complies with the latest National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations. This position requires a high degree of precision, strong adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work at heights in a fast-paced commercial environment. The Electrician works regular hours during the days and is subject to call-outs and mandatory overtime.

 

Starting pay for this position can range from $81,850 to $100,558 annually (before overtime). This position has a 7.5% annual cash bonus target, 8% 401k match, and Cash Balance Account pension.

 

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Reading and interpreting complex blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics to determine the layout of electrical systems.
  • Installing, bending, and threading various types and sizes of conduit, including EMT, rigid, and PVC, to support power and control cables.
  • Pulling and terminating all necessary wiring for branch circuits, feeders, lighting systems, and control panels.
  • Installing and maintaining power distribution systems, including switchgear and electrical panels, with meticulous attention to safety and quality.
  • Installing, maintaining, and programming lighting controls and energy management systems throughout the building.
  • Roughing-in and trimming out a wide range of electrical fixtures and equipment, such as lighting, receptacles, and motors.
  • Performing work from ladders, scaffolds, and aerial lifts at varying heights.
  • Installing low-voltage systems, including fire alarms, security systems, and data/communication cabling.
  • Conducting electrical testing and troubleshooting problems using a variety of diagnostic equipment, such as multimeters and circuit tracers.
  • Following strict company and OSHA safety guidelines and reporting any hazardous conditions.
  • Providing leadership and direction to apprentice electricians and helpers on the jobsite. 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5 or more years of experience working as a commercial electrician
  • Valid driver's license
  • Valid State of Texas Journeyman Electrician license
  • Experience with conduit bending, wire pulling, and terminating electrical equipment
  • Willingness and ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform/comply with the following:
    • To read at a level to understand written safety procedures, work procedures, work permits, instruction manuals
    • To work at various heights and climb ladders
    • To walk, kneel, and squat
    • To work inside tight spaces
    • To work standing for a two hour period
    • To lift a stationary weight of 50-lbs. from a floor to a bench level
    • To respond to sound and system fault light alarms
    • To work in harsh weather condition
    • To work in a team environment
    • To work overtime as needed

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior commercial electrician experience in high-rise construction
