The Director of Learning Excellence and Operations will lead Phillips 66’s learning and development function to develop learning solutions that are innovative, measurable, impactful, and scalable. This individual will work as the strategic leader of a team tasked to define and design the learning technology strategy as well as the impact and measurement strategy to promote the business impact and value of the department to the organization. They will provide thought-leadership perspectives to continuously improve content and processes to ensure programs remain relevant and impactful.
The individual must be highly collaborative and resourceful; able to quickly identify the right learning opportunities for the business, work effectively with and across Phillips 66, and deliver prioritized L&D projects. You must demonstrate an ability to deliver against the entire suite of learning offerings ensure the services offered are aligned to learner and business needs and adhere to the highest standards of quality.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Oversee and direct the planning and implementation of new and existing L&D programs and initiatives ensuring all business objectives and requirements are met (L&D Project Management)
- Manage partner relationships ensuring there is alignment and consistency in the quality of training.
- Programs, initiatives, and materials launched by the department (Business Partner Optimization).
- Oversee the instructional design and development/production of learning programs and solutions, ensuring
- They are produced to standard, brand, on time, and within budget (Creative Design).
- Maintain continuous communication with key internal and external stakeholders for cross-functional alignment.
- Design, evolve, and maintain our technology roadmap and stack to ensure the utilization of learning technology.
- To scale and measure impact globally while ensuring a positive learner experience.
- Work with other L&D leaders in project planning, budget preparation, resource management, and time.
- Management, and risk management activities to forecast resource/budget needs.
- Design and establish a business impact strategy to measure the performance and success of ongoing training.
- Programs and lead reporting for the purpose of strategy formulation and informed decision-making.
- Maintain current knowledge of the latest industry standards, tools, and processes; keep abreast of current learning and performance strategies and innovations, delivery methods, and techniques.
Required Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the posting country
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- 10 or more years of experience in curriculum design such as Instructional Design, Adult Education, or equivalent within a corporate setting
- 10 or more years of experience in developing learning strategies and programs from the ground up based on organizational and business priorities
- 5 or more years of experience in evaluating learning program effectiveness and ROI
- Superb facilitation skills and must be able to present to senior leadership team
- Communicates effectively; tailors style and messaging to effectively reach diverse audiences at different levels and backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven ability to analyze problems, identify key information, and interpret data to develop strategy & implement processes to effectively resolve
- Demonstrated capability in adapting and innovating learning practices and solutions and right-sizing them to the needs of a fluid fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization
- Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, and interpersonal - and an ability to tailor communication style to diverse audiences
- Demonstrated people leadership skills and ability to engage, inspire, and influence others
- Experience building and maintaining relationships and acting as a trusted advisor
- Organizational effectiveness - ability to build and drive enterprise programs or initiatives
- Engagement - ability to build strong relationships and engage with multiple stakeholder groups across the organizations
