This unique role will primarily focus on Global Marine and Surface Transportation Logistics and provides the opportunity to work across the broader Commercial business value chain including Global Trading, US Scheduling, Global Market Analysis, Midstream Commercial (NGL), Risk and Compliance, Commercial F&PA, and Accounting Operations.
The Data Engineer, Commerical IT will enable advanced data analysis and visualization through the Commercial business unit through delivery of IT projects continued digital transformation, and general business enablement. The position will report to the Director, IT Commercial Applications and be a recognized technical resource with a focus on designing & developing data models, data visualizations, and reporting functionality. The role will work with business experts, architects, IT business analysts, and data analysts while using a combination of business strategy and technical data knowledge to translate complex information into analytics solutions for business users. The role will also engage in change management, support, and data security of data solutions.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Leverage understanding of data analysis principles and formulas to create effective, accurate and concise models that communicate the information and meaning of a dataset.
- Showcase data modeling and aggregation skills to generate accurate models and communicate effectively through visual representations.
- Visualize data effectively and choose the right chart & visualization to display the key performance indicators.
- Communicate with data engineers, analysts, clients and executives through both verbal communication and visual representations while ensuring that everybody on the team has the same information and understanding to create a consistent and effective result.
- Building end-to-end solutions to solve high value business needs in a sustainable manner.
- Create dev-ops pipeline and experience in agile methodologies.
- Develop, monitor, and implement governance, standards, and practices to enable P66 to have secure, sustainable, and reliable reporting and analytics.
Required Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 or more years of IT or analytics related experience
- 3 or more years of experience working with cloud-based platforms in an enterprise environment.
- 2 or more years of experience in building data models on SAP modules (Finance, Sales & Distribution and Materials Management)
- Experience in designing and building data models leveraging Azure data platform (Azure Synapse, Databricks, Delta Factory)
- Proficient in designing dashboards and reports in Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud or Tableau
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, Engineering, or relevant field
- Experience with SQL or Python programming language
- Strong understanding of data warehousing techniques
- Experience in cloud data platforms like Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory and Power BI
- Cloud certifications (Power BI, Tableau, Azure Data Engineer, or SAP Analytics Cloud certification)
- Significant and relevant Oil & Gas or technical industry experience, especially commercial and/or logistics
- Functional knowledge in Truck, Rail, and Marine modes of transportation
- Functional knowledge info SAP S/4 HVC HANA, preferably MM/SD related to IS-Oil, and an oil & gas industry focus.
- Strong understanding of the deals-to-dollars oil & gas business processes.
- Strong understanding of commercial spot, term, and evergreen contracts for physical oil & gas commodities.
- Functional understanding of third-party commercial system integrations into SAP S/4 HANA.
- Process mapping skills
- Experience with pipeline, build/release, and CI/CD deployment of data pipelines (Azure DevOps, Git)
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills to effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences adjusting style to fit the target audience including multiple levels of management.
