We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cost Analyst to join our team in the Phillips 66 Projects organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of project structures, requisitions, invoice tracking, and accruals, and assist with reporting project costs to ensure financial performance aligns with project budgets and corporate objectives
The location can be Houston, TX or Lake Charles, LA refinery.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Creation of project structures (SAP and Ecosys).
- Creation of networks and activities to support the requisition process.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Cost Specialists to establish and input the initial budget.
- Review and validate invoices and purchase orders for compliance with cost coding and budget allocations.
- Submit monthly accruals.
- Assist with invoice issues (resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payment processing.
- Facilitate asset registration.
- Manage commitments.
- Assist the Cost Specialist with reporting requirements.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Required Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- Associate’s degree in finance, Accounting, Engineering, Business, or related field
- 1 or more years of cost control or cost engineering experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry
- Strong knowledge of cost management principles and tools
- Proficiency in cost control and reporting software (e.g., SAP, Excel, or similar systems)
- Experience in large projects or multiple small projects with assignments of increasing responsibility, complexity, and scope
- Good understanding of the project process and interactions required to execute project
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with major EPC or oil & gas operator
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Business, or related field
- Proficiency in cost control and reporting software, EcoSys, and Power BI Professional certifications (e.g., AACE CCP, PMP, or similar)
- Familiarity with project planning and scheduling processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
