As an Energy Management Advisor III, you will work closely with cross‑functional partners to bring clarity to complex energy-related questions, helping the business better understand usage, cost, and performance across assets. With a strong analytical foundation and a practical understanding of energy markets and Midstream operations, this position helps shape how energy insights are translated into informed actions. It’s an opportunity to influence outcomes, support reliability and efficiency, and make a meaningful impact in a critical part of the energy value chain.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with operations, commercial, engineering and trading teams to understand business needs and translate them into clear, actionable requirements and functional specifications.
  • Analyze energy usage, cost, and performance data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities that inform operational decisions, cost optimization, and strategic planning.
  • Document and assess current energy management processes, data flows, and systems, and help define future capabilities that improve efficiency, visibility, and control.
  • Lead requirements activities for energy-related initiatives, including elicitation, validation, traceability, and acceptance criteria, ensuring alignment from discovery through implementation.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of utility accounts, collaborating with bill-pay providers and field staff to activate, verify, and deactivate accounts, ensuring alignment with pipeline asset data.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with utility vendors, supporting field requests, managing agreements, and coordinating service changes or maintenance needs.
  • Assist with budgeting, accruals, and ongoing reconciliation of utility billing to support Accounting & Finance teams and deliver financial accuracy.
  • Support feasibility assessments and business cases by evaluating options, impacts, risks, and trade-offs related to energy sourcing, usage, reporting, and optimization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with technical and delivery teams to support enhancements to energy management tools, analytics, and reporting solutions, ensuring business needs are clearly understood and met.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality documentation, including process maps, requirements artifacts, and user-facing documentation, to support adoption and long-term sustainability.
  • Support change and readiness efforts by assessing impacts, identifying gaps, and helping stakeholders prepare for new energy-related processes, systems, or ways of working.
  • Stay informed on energy market dynamics, regulatory considerations, and emerging energy management practices, bringing relevant insights forward to support continuous improvement.
  • Support project execution with power connection processes, agreements and timelines.
  • Act as the liaison between Operations and the utilities supporting connect and disconnect notices, delayed payment, direct support to operations with power interruptions and pricing events.

 

What You’ll Bring – Required

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3 or more years of experience working with energy management efforts, operations, power trading, data analysis, forecast, or economic studies
  • Intermediate proficiency working with large data sets, consolidating information into clear deliverables, and utilizing energy modeling software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to comply with the following:
    • Travel up to 10%
    • Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and perform occasional duties, especially during demand response events

 

What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred

  • 5 or more years of experience working with energy management and efficiency programs, data analysis, power forecast and usage, economic studies in the Energy or Oil & Gas industry, demand response programs, and power usage at the field level
  • 3 or more years of experience in energy management economics and contract negotiation
  • Knowledge of:
    • Regulated and de-regulated utility markets
    • Pipeline and/or hydrocarbon processing operations
    • Modeling techniques, uses, limitations and fundamental drivers of energy markets
    • Economic forces and drivers of supply and demand
    • Regulated and de-regulated utility markets

 

Compensation Range 

This position has a base salary range of $124,200 – $151,800.

Where a candidate offer falls within the posted range depends on the candidate's experience, skills, and alignment with the role’s requirements. Midstream

The Phillips 66 Midstream business is a safe, reliable, and trusted provider for the movement, storage, gathering, and processing of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 70,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. Our capabilities include extensive natural gas gathering and processing operations, enhancing our wellhead-to-market strategy. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.
