As an Advisor III, Data Engineering, you’ll apply your analytical and technical expertise to support data-driven decisions, working closely with partners across the business to solve complex problems. What You’ll Do
- Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to understand goals and translate complex requirements into scalable data and analytics solutions.
- Design and build ETL/ELT pipelines in Databricks using PySpark and SQL, optimizing for performance, cost, and reliability.
- Model data for analytics and operational use cases using dimensional modeling (star/snowflake), 3NF, and (nice-to-have) Data Vault 2.0 best practices.
- Implement and maintain Delta Lake tables with proper partitioning, Z‑ordering, and OPTIMIZE/VACUUM strategies; manage schema evolution and data quality checks.
- Establish strong data governance: cataloging, lineage, access controls (e.g., Unity Catalog), PII handling, and documentation.
- Build and operate orchestrated workflows (e.g., Databricks Jobs, Airflow, Azure Data Factory/Synapse pipelines); implement monitoring, alerting, and SLAs.
- Collaborate with platform and DevOps teams to implement CI/CD for data (e.g., Git, Databricks Repos, unit/integration tests), and IaC (e.g., Terraform) for repeatable environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support model development, validation, and deployment, including machine learning and AI-enabled solutions.
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and reduce operational risk through better use of data.
What You’ll Bring — Required
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 3 or more years of relevant experience in data engineering, analytics, or data science roles, with the ability to work independently on complex problems
- Hands-on experience with one major cloud; Azure, AWS or GCP
- Advanced Proficiency in building pipelines in Databricks (Spark, SQL, Delta Lake)
- Advanced Proficiency in data modeling skills such as dimensional modeling/3NF
- Advanced Proficiency in SQL, Python (PySpark) and distributed data processing
- Advanced Proficiency in Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables, dbt on Databricks, or Photon
- Advanced Proficiency in BI/analytics (Power BI, Tableau) or ML feature engineering
- Intermediate Proficiency in Git-based workflows, CI/CD, testing strategies, and infrastructure-as-code
- Intermediate Proficiency in data governance, security, and privacy/PII best practices
- Intermediate Proficiency in event/stream processing (Kafka, Kinesis, Event Hubs)
- Intermediate Proficiency in cost optimization and performance tuning in Spark/Databricks
What Makes You Stand Out — Preferred
- 3 or more years of hands-on experience in software or data development, including end-to-end solution delivery
- Experience working in cloud-based analytics environments such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Familiarity with machine learning, predictive analytics, or supporting AI-enabled solutions in a production setting
- Background in optimizing data pipelines, SQL queries, or analytical code for performance and scalability
- Prior experience supporting business teams in non-IT or operational environments, particularly within data-intensive industries
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Experience translating business needs into practical data and analytics solutions through collaboration with non-technical partners
- Solid understanding of data quality, governance, and best practices for working with structured data
Compensation Range
This position has a base salary range of $121,500 - $148,500.
