Warehouse Supervisor

The Warehouse Supervisor is designed to develop strong frontline leadership in warehouse and logistics operations while supporting Hartford Lubricants' overall plant performance. The Supervisor will be responsible for all inbound and outbound shipping activities at the Hartford T1& T2 warehouses and Offsite Warehouse including the supervision of all material handling staff. The role focuses on safety, inventory accuracy, labor coordination, and seamless logistics execution across all warehouse locations

 

The Warehouse Supervisor will be onsite between the Gateway Warehouse (primary) and Hartford Lubricants Plants.

Responsibilities May Include

  • Supervise daily shipping and receiving operations at both Hartford and Offsite warehouses.
  • Ensure on-time and accurate outbound shipments of packaged lubricants (drums, totes, cases, pails).
  • Oversee inbound receipt and staging of raw materials, additives, and packaging components.
  • Maintain proper documentation (GRIR,BOLs, packing slips, receiving logs) and system transactions in ERP/WMS platforms.
  • Lead warehouse teams across shifts, including truck loaders, line pullers, and receiving clerks.
  • Set clear daily work assignments and expectations.
  •  Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and performance between Hartford and Offsite staff.
  • Conduct regular group huddles to share performance updates and collect improvement ideas.
  • Serve as a safety leader and ensure team adherence to site safety policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and lead safety observations (TSOs).
  •  Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and internal SOPs for hazardous materials handling and shipping.
  •  Maintain orderly dock areas, proper PPE usage, and emergency response readiness.
  • Work with the planning and logistics teams to optimize storage plans at Hartford and Offsite. Support quart line 6/1 finished goods flow.
  • Maintain FIFO and segregation of materials by product family and lot number.
  • Ensure accurate and timely inventory movements through cycle counts, reconciliation, and proper labeling.
  • Oversee the shuttle program between Hartford and Offsite, ensuring timely transfer of finished goods and materials.
  • Monitor shuttle schedules, container integrity, and driver safety performance.
  • Act as the operational point of contact for customer service, planners, and carriers regarding shipment schedules and exceptions.
  • Quickly address shipping issues, inventory discrepancies, or loading constraints to prevent delays.
  • Ensure accurate ERP transactions for all warehouse movements (goods issue, receipt, transfer).
  • Review daily shipping/receiving logs and KPIs (e.g., OTIF, truck turnaround time).
  • Track labor hours, coverage needs, and overtime as required to meet daily volume.

Required Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Strong understanding of shipping documentation, ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP), and inventory control and proven ability to lead teams, build trust, and enforce high safety and quality standards
  • 2 or more years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency in warehouse management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of logistics, inventory control, and warehousing principles
  • Office located within or near warehouse floor
  • May require occasional lifting or handling of materials (<50 lbs)
  • Must wear PPE when on warehouse floor
  • Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC

Compensation

 

The base pay range for this role is $88,200 – $130, 000 depending on a candidate's relevant work experience and education.
