What to Expect

 

As a Maintenance Associate, you will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. You will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the Hartford Lubricants Plant.

The Phillips 66 Hartford Lubricants Plant is in Hartford, IL. The Plant receives base oil feed stock and additives via barge, railcars, and trucks. These feedstocks are offloaded into storage tanks. From the storage tanks, the base oil and additives are sent through computerized batch blenders and inline blenders to produce a finished product. The finished product is then sent to our package lines where automatic filling systems and conveyors place it into bottles, drums, and other containers. The finished product is then shipped out via trucks and rail to customers. We provide a safe and environmentally responsible workplace and have a positive impact on the local community. Operations are run 24 hours per day, with Maintenance associates on shifts Monday through Friday with occasional work on weekends.

 

What You’ll Do

 

  • Maintaining and repairing all plant process equipment, performing calibration, equipment upgrades and preventative maintenance for reliability.
  • Interfacing with direct Supervisor, Operations and other Management personnel to coordinate equipment needs.
  • Addressing daily work orders in timely and cost-effective manner with the use of SAP
  • Tracking process equipment downtime and cost of repair.
  • Being accountable for the development and accuracy of maintenance procedures and records.
  • Performing work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments.
  • Effectively tracking and communicating maintenance tasks and project status.
  • Call-outs to support plant operations around the clock and to respond to emergency needs.
  • Assuring compliance with all Company policies and conducting all activities safely by following Company policies, procedures and LTT (Lock, Tag, Try) requirements.
  • Overseeing third-party contract workers to assure work is completed in a safe, timely and cost-efficient manner, and in accordance with all Company requirements.
  • Hardware and software maintenance and repair for all plant control systems
  • Maintenance of industrial Electrical systems and electrical Lock, Tag, Try - following industry requirements and company policy.
  • Troubleshooting and repair of mechanical systems in a safe and timely manner.
  • Fabricating parts and components for new and existing equipment.
  • Maintaining spare parts inventory to facilitate repairs and minimize process equipment down time
  • Maintain and repair pumps and replace mechanical seals.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing conveyors and material handling systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintaining all work areas in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Functioning as a team player with management, operators, and other maintenance personnel.
  • Troubleshoot PLC automated equipment, sensors, control loops and logic.
  • Repairing or replacing control devices such as valves, switches, photo-eyes, proximity sensors, contactors, motor starters in control systems of voltages from 24 V DC up to 480V 3-phase.

 

What You’ll Bring – Required

 

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Willing and able to work second shift: 3PM - 11:30PM opening
  • Willing and able to wear proper PPE including fall-protection harnesses when required
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Associate degree in Electrical or Industrial Maintenance
  • 1 year of experience repairing mechanical equipment including, but not limited to: PLC’s and automated equipment, material handling equipment, conveyors, servos, pumps, motors, manual and automated valves, and piping
  • Willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform the following:
    • Work safely, follow procedures and directions
    • Operator forklifts, elevated-work platforms, and scissor lifts
    • Read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings for troubleshooting and repair.
    • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
    • General housekeeping
    • Regularly climb ladders and stairs to perform tasks.
    • Respond to unforeseen breakdowns or callouts as needed on 24-hour basis.
    • Must be willing to work off-shift when operations require.
    • Provide proof of any relevant education and/or training certifications including CPR certification

What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred

 

  • 2 or more years of experience working in electrical and mechanical repair in the packaging industry
  • 3 or more years of experience in maintenance working in oil & gas, chemical or manufacturing as a Journeyman or equivalent.
  • 3 or more years of experience working in industrial environment, or related military service.
  • Experience with low pressure boiler and utility systems
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical safety in the workplace.

 

Compensation Range:

 

  • This position has an hourly rate of $37.51
