What to Expect
The Sr Technician, Equipment Analyst improves reliability by using predictive analysis equipment to pinpoint reliability issues on various equipment. Works with the Reliability team to strive for operational excellence. Finds solutions to the most difficult problems. Leads, mentors and trains others within the team. This position will be based out of the office in Greeley, CO region.

What You’ll Do
- Performing machinery condition assessments by applying one or more predictive maintenance technologies with the goal of achieving higher equipment reliability
- Applying deep understanding of 2 cycle and 4 cycle engine combustion characteristics (naturally aspirated and turbocharged) to troubleshoot issues and schedule repairs
- Collecting/analyzing crank angle vibration and pressure data on natural gas engines/compressors, including brands such as White, Ariel, Caterpillar, Waukesha, and Cooper
- Using strong mechanical knowledge of natural gas engines/compressors to identify reliability issues and recommend corrective measures
- The predictive maintenance program may include, but is not limited to the operation of portable vibration analysis equipment, reciprocating compressor analysis equipment,
Vibration analysis, oil analysis and infrared thermal imaging - Operating multiple software programs for vibration analysis and compressor performance optimization, including OEM and aftermarket horsepower curve software.
- Utilizing portable emissions analyzer to identify emissions compliance issues and recommend corrective action.
- Performing analysis and testing for asset, regional and corporate engineering personnel
- Collecting spectrum data on rotating equipment for analysis and recommending corrective measures.
- Analyzing data and producing work orders for repairs in SAP or related software programs
- Frequent travel may be required to assist other Phillips 66 areas as well as attending training seminars and troubleshooting.
- Assisting with the most difficult troubleshooting and repairs
- Analyzing oil sample results and making repair recommendations
- Performs other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization
What You’ll Bring - Required

- High school diploma and/or GED equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- To live and/or relocate within 1 hour of reporting location
- Ability to travel 10% of the time, as required.
- Willing and able to perform/comply with the following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- To frequently lift and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds
- To push/pull forces up to 100 pounds
- To regularly walk, stand, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch for durations of up to 30 minutes
- To climb various stairs and A-frame ladders, up to 20 feet
- To work extended hours which may include evenings, weekends and holidays, and be available for callout
- To work either inside or outside in conditions that may include heat, humidity, or other inclement weather
- To safely work around various types of rotating or moving equipment
- To work around loud noises
- To wear personal protective equipment, such as flame-retardant clothing, eye protection, ear protection, steel-toed boots, hard hat, etc.
What Makes You Stand Out - Preferred
- Holds ISO certification in vibration analysis
- 3 or more years of mechanical experience with reciprocating engines, compressors, turbines, pumps and motors in the oil and gas or relevant industry
- 5 or more years of experience in gas pipelines
- 2 or more years of supervisory or leadership experience
- Expert level knowledge of natural gas driven engines and compressors
- Intermediate level of knowledge in gas gathering, processing, pipelines, and technical crafts, strong maintenance experience of pumps, compressors and gas driven equipment
- Advanced level of knowledge of Windrock 6400 vibration analyzer and software
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
- Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Compensation Range
The base pay range for this role is $100,800 – 123,200 depending on a candidate's relevant work experience and education.
