The Field Technician is broadly skilled and qualified to perform most troubleshooting, and repair tasks within their area of responsibility, typically works on a broad range of maintenance and operational duties, typically assigned to a geographic area that can include responsibilities for multiple facilities. Alternatively, some roles may have responsibilities focused on only the highest complexity problems in just one or two craft specialties. Responsible for operational, mechanical, and instrument\electrical functions, such as inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations. Also, actively involved in peer mentoring\training. This position supports areas including but not limited to Andrews, TX, Goldsmith, TX and Seminole, TX.

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Works autonomously at varying times and in diverse weather conditions, at remote field locations and is available for callout.
  • Participates and successfully completes training programs, risk management reviews, and safety meetings required to comply with state and federal regulations and company policy.
  • Reviews and follows procedures as necessary to ensure compliance of all company and industry standards to meet all regulatory agency requirements.
  • Accurately completes documentation such as timesheets, work orders via SAP, safe job plans\work permits and regulatory reports.
  • Optimizes work in most effective (efficient and leveraging priority) manner, in alignment with the Maintenance Work Process (MWP) and within the tenets of S.A.F.E. and Stop Work Authority.
  • Maintains facility appearance and safety through good housekeeping practices.
  • Effectively utilizes tools and test equipment as needed.
  • Responds to operational emergencies as a member of an emergency response team.
  • Performs and accurately documents regulatory required inspections.
  • May oversee contractors providing specialty services (Quality Assurance, Quality Control).
  • Performs other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
  • Conducts pipeline pigging, hydrate management, etc.
  • Hooking and unhooking heavy high-pressure hoses for daily maintenance operation.

 

Operations Field

  • Conducts routine inspection of equipment and facilities (equipment health, security, AVO- Audio, Visual, Olfactory), operation of liquid handling systems, and operation of dehydration systems.
  • Conducts pipeline pigging, hydrate management, etc.
  • Responsible for Startup, Shutdown, and operating gas compression equipment.
  • Maintains pipeline ROW such as markers, signs, and vegetation, exposures.
  • One Call: Pipeline location and marking, monitor encroachment, excavation, and crossings.
  • Maintains effective customer and landowner relations.

 

Mechanical Maintenance and Repair

  • Performs maintenance and repair of engines, compressors, and associated components, such as compressor valves, spark plugs, cooling and lubrication systems (auxiliary)
  • Performs maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, air compressors, manual valve actuators, etc.
  • Performs maintenance and repair of and fixed equipment such as filters (all types), strainers, dehydration systems, etc.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Able to live/relocate to within 50 miles of reporting location
  • Willing and able to perform/comply, with or without a reasonable accommodation, with the following:
  • Ability to stoop, squat, kneel, and crouch for durations up to 30 minutes
  • Ability to pull/push doors open to move around the plant
  • Ability to exert pulling force of 130 pounds
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb fixed ladder, stairs, and A-frame ladders up to 20 feet in height
  • Works extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Work rotating 12 hours shift schedule, as business
  • Ability to operate in both indoor and outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity
  • Works safely near large, hot, high-speed machines
  • To wear personal protective equipment, such as flame-retardant clothing, eye protection, ear protection, steel-toed boots, hard hat, etc.
  • Works independently as well as part of a team

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of Tech school training program in relevant field
  • 3 years of experience in oil and gas operations
  • 1 or more years of experience in gas compressors in relevant field
  • Reads and comprehends technical procedures, and / or governmental regulations
  • Has strong communication skills, interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships

 

Midstream

The Phillips 66 Midstream business is a safe, reliable, and trusted provider for the movement, storage, gathering, and processing of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 70,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. Our capabilities include extensive natural gas gathering and processing operations, enhancing our wellhead-to-market strategy. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.
