As a Sr Advisor I, Regional Network-West, you’ll be a trusted partner to field teams and a key contributor to the systems that keep our operations running smoothly. You’ll bring a thoughtful, solutions‑focused approach to supporting a dynamic environment—helping drive stability, innovation, and continuous improvement across our network landscape.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Provide support for network operations (both logically and physically), ensuring reliability, performance, and timely resolution of issues.
  • Lead and execute network and fiber infrastructure projects with a hands-on approach.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting across multiple IT disciplines to resolve complex issues.
  • Proactively monitor and manage local network health to ensure optimal performance.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to local support analysts including developing and administering relevant training, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
  • Act as a technical consultant for cross-functional teams and Field IT leadership.
  • Apply business acumen to identify and solve operational challenges, driving continuous improvement and challenging the status quo through innovative solutions.
  • Identifying cost optimization and value-add opportunities.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute network-related projects from inception to completion, effectively managing resources and collaborating across multiple locations.
  • Implement effective change management practices and maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation.
  • Travel as needed to support network initiatives and collaborate with regional teams.
  • Managing specialty contractors or vendors.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with technical partners in various business units (e.g. Midstream I&E Technician).

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in an applicable Information Technology discipline supporting enterprise networks
  • 3 or more years of experience with physical network cabling industry standards
  • 1 or more years of experience with fiber management and troubleshooting
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in the refinery around process equipment
  • Ability to travel up to 5%
  • Able to lift equipment that weighs up to 30 lbs. from the floor and safely carry up 4 flights of stairs
  • Able to bend, stoop, or crawl under furniture to connect wiring
  • Able to push/pull equipment on a cart of up to 100 lbs
  • Proven ability and willingness to provide day-to-day and after-hours support (24x7) as needed
  • Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC). Information can be found at https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic
  • Occasional on-call duties
  • Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (such as steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)
  • Maintain face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)

 

What Makes You Stand Out

  • 3 or more years working knowledge and troubleshooting within a large global Cisco environment
  • Cisco CCNP certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Catalyst SD-WAN, Wireless Design, Network Authentication (Cisco ISE), firewalls (CheckPoint), packet capture and analysis, monitoring/observability (SolarWinds, ServiceNow), automation (Python/PowerShell, Cisco Catalyst Center), IPAM (Infoblox)
  • Ability to achieve excellent results with minimal guidance
  • Proven discipline in following operational standards and processes
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills for direct customer interaction
  • Proven ability to master, apply and deliver advanced and specialized technical training
  • Proven ability to work well with business, and local and remote IT resources
  • Proven ability to deliver on commitments
  • Ability to manage and perform multiple tasks concurrently
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills

 

Compensation Range 

This position has a base salary range of $136,800 - $167,200.

Where a candidate offer falls within the posted range depends on the candidate's experience, skills, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
