As an Associate IV, Ferndale IT Support, supporting our Ferndale Refinery, you will help keep critical IT systems running smoothly and securely. You’ll join a dynamic IT team where you monitor and support infrastructure and end-user technologies, troubleshoot issues, and learn from experienced professionals. What You’ll Do
- Support reliable end-user IT services by troubleshooting basic hardware, software, network, and system performance issues and escalating as needed.
- Monitor system hardware, networks, and infrastructure software, logging incidents and supporting routine system, website, and application performance tests.
- Assist with day-to-day infrastructure and network operations, including simple configuration tasks, database and application updates, and hardware refresh activities with central teams and suppliers.
- Support information security by monitoring security measures, following access control procedures, and promptly reporting potential security issues.
- Track, maintain, and document IT assets, configurations, incidents, and changes using standard tools and procedures.
- Operate basic IT equipment and tools safely in refinery and field environments, following established work instructions and safety practices.
- Participate in after-hours/on-call schedules to support critical systems and infrastructure as needed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting process enhancements and helping update knowledge articles and technical documentation.
What You’ll Bring – Required

- Travel up to 5%
- Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and perform occasional on-call (24x7) duties as needed
- Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (such as steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 1 or more years of experience working with IT procedures and/or systems
- Intermediate or greater proficiency supporting end-user environments, infrastructure components, or basic system administration tasks

- Foundational ability to monitor, diagnose, and resolve routine technology issues with guidance
- Basic understanding of operating systems, security practices, and standard IT processes
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to follow established procedures
Compensation Range
This position has a base salary range of $86,100 – $105,270.

The Ferndale Refinery is located on Puget Sound in Ferndale, Washington, approximately 20 miles south of the U.S.-Canada border. Facilities include crude distillation, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation and hydrodesulfurization units. It processes a variety crude oils, including Alaskan North Slope, Canadian and other foreign and U.S. shale crudes, primarily delivered via marine vessel and pipeline. Within the refinery is a rail car crude oil receiving facility with a capacity of 30,000 BPD. This offloading facility, owned by Phillips 66 Partners, makes the receipt of additional crude by rail car possible. The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels. Other products include residual fuel oil, which is supplied to the northwest marine bunker fuel market. Most refined products are distributed to customers by pipeline and barge to major markets in the northwestern United States.
