I&E Technician - Borger, TX

The Instrumentation & Electrical Technician will be based out of Borger, Texas and is responsible for safe operations and maintenance of Company pipeline assets. The position will calibrate and inspect process control equipment, conduct routine pipeline maintenance, eliminate, and report product leaks, seeps, and spills, as well as assist with construction, maintenance, and mechanical integrity projects on the pipeline. The position will maintain operator qualifications and record documentation in accordance with all applicable DOT and OSHA regulations to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Calibrating and documenting DOT regulated devices.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for pipeline and terminal assets.
  • Maintaining I/E skills by attending training sessions and on-the-job training.
  • Maintaining records, including prints and project reports.
  • Motor (up to 4160 volt) and transformer maintenance.
  • VFD/soft start and switchgear maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • PLC and HMI maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Assisting measurement technicians with installations and troubleshooting.
  • Responding to emergencies and participate in emergency response.
  • Supervising, directing, and training contractor crews.
  • Completing and maintaining required safety/regulatory training.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license
  • 2 or more years of Instrumentation and Electrical experience in industrial environment
  • Willingness and ability to perform and comply with following, with or without reasonable accommodations:
    • To climb up to 50 feet using both inclined and vertical steps/ladders 
    • To lift up to 45 pounds.
    • To bend, kneel, knee stand and squat up to 30 minutes at a time. Sit and stand for prolonged periods over 2 hours at a time according to job demands.
    • To travel up to 10% of the time
    • To work alone a high percentage of the time
    • To respond to emergency calls as needed and work overtime on an as needed basis
    • To work outside in harsh weather conditions.
    • To work with hydrocarbons that are under high pressure and heat; work with chemicals and bases.
    • To wear personal protective equipment (such as fire-retardant clothing, steel-toe shoes, head, ear, and eye protection)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Electrical maintenance, Instrumentation, or Industrial Electronics
  • 4 years or more experience with; Digital and analog circuitry; One-line drawings and instrument/electrical schematics; Allen-Bradley PLCs; Rosemount Transmitters; OMNI flow computers; VFD’s.

 

Midstream

Phillips 66's Midstream business is a safe, reliable and trusted logistics provider for the movement and storage of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 22,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.
