The Data Specialist Summer Laborer position will allow you the opportunity to make contributions that support our Phillips 66 Borger Refinery. We have identified a need for temporary employees to assist in a data project. The position will work under the supervision of an experienced Project Manager and network with other students participating in the Intern program. The position will provide an introduction to company practices, procedures, and safety culture.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Assist with the support and maintenance of various systems.
- Utilize Excel and Visual Basic (VB) or other programming languages to expedite data cleanup and organization.
- Ensure all critical instruments are accurately added to the system.
- Facilitate the download of data to tools for craftsperson use.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve long-term system integration goals.
- Provide training and support to team members on the use of the systems.
- Any other duties as assigned

- Well organized self-starter who can operate independently and in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task and respond quickly to change / opportunities
- Effective communication skills and basic computer skills
- High service level and strong work ethic
Required Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
- Must have a valid driver's license Must be at least 18 years of age
- Willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Willing and able to be available for a minimum of eight continuous weeks
- Willing and able to work overtime
- Proficient in Excel and Visual Basics
Preferred Qualificatios:
- Currently pursuing a degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
The Borger Refinery is located in Borger, Texas, in the Texas Panhandle, approximately 50 miles north of Amarillo, Texas. Refinery facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes primarily medium sour crude oil produced locally, and heavy sour crude oil produced in Canada, all of which are delivered by pipeline. Borger produces a high percentage of transportation fuels, as well as petroleum coke, NGLs and solvents. Refined products are distributed to customers via pipelines from the refinery to West Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and the Midcontinent region.
