Field Technician, Rawhide Gathering Field

The Field Technician, Rawhide Gathering Field is responsible for operational, mechanical and instrument & electrical functions of engines and compressor at booster site locations, including inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations. Employee(s) in this position will have some environmental or safety activities associated with their responsibilities, along with taking care of pipeline gathering systems (pigging, leak detection, shutdown and startup of pipelines). This position will support areas including Big Spring and Stanton, TX.

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Conducts routine inspection of equipment and facilities (equipment health, security, AVO- Audio, Visual, Olfactory), and operation of dehydration system.
  • Conducts pipeline pigging, hydrate management, etc.
  • Responsible for Startup, Shutdown, and operating gas compression equipment.
  • Maintains pipeline ROW such as markers, signs, and will report any vegetation and exposures of pipelines.
  • Performs maintenance and repair of engines, compressors and associated components, such as compressor valves, spark plugs, filters, belts, cooling and lubrication systems (auxiliary).
  • Performs maintenance and repair of pumps and associated components, such as glycol, condensate, lube oil and methanol, etc.
  • Performs maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, air compressors, manual valve actuators, etc.
  • Performs maintenance and repair of and fixed equipment such as filters (all types), strainers, dehydration systems, etc.
  • Responsible for conducting the product composition, quality sampling and testing process according to company standard.
  • Performs on reading PLC, HMI, SCADA, etc. Panels to safely operate equipment.
  • Maintain and perform housekeeping tasks of booster site locations.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record 
  • 3 or more years of oil and gas operations experience
  • Willing and able to perform/comply with the following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
    • Regularly stoop, squat, kneel and/or crouch for durations up to 30 minutes
    • Lift a minimum of 50 pounds 
    • Occasionally exerts pulling force of 130 pounds
    • Occasionally may climb A-frame ladders, up to 20 feet
    • Be located within a 45 minutes drive of the work location to respond to occasional call outs as needed
    • Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends and holidays 
    • Work an on-call schedule
    • Work inside gas plant conditions as well as in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity
    • Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines
    • Work within confined spaces
    • Work in loud environment
    • To wear personal protective equipment, such as flame-retardant clothing, eye protection, ear protection, steel-toed boots, hard hat, etc.  

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of Tech school program
  • 5 or more years of oil and gas operations experience
  • 1 or more years of work experience in mechanical maintenance, instrumentation and electrical maintenance
  • 1 or more years of work experience in natural gas pipeline operations
  • Basic level of proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of SAP software format
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

 

Midstream:

The Phillips 66 Midstream business is a safe, reliable, and trusted provider for the movement, storage, gathering, and processing of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 70,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. Our capabilities include extensive natural gas gathering and processing operations, enhancing our wellhead-to-market strategy. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.
