DevOps Engineer

The DevOps Engineer role on the Refining IT Process Engineering & Operations team involves supporting the delivery of digital transformation and operational efficiencies across the Refining Business Solutions organization. The individual selected must demonstrate a customer-first mentality, agile mindset, and technical skillset to support and resolve business software challenges.  Given the technical nature of the team and the broad range of skills needed, we require self-starters that can learn quickly and work on specific technical tasks with little supervision. The ideal candidate would have a passion for learning new things, the ability to explain complex technologies in a simple manner, and strong intellectual integrity.

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Designing and creating pipelines to manage code deployments
  • Supporting continued advancements across the team (e.g. cloud architecture, security, knowledge sharing, monitoring, and automation)
  • Working with project teams, business analyst, enterprise architects, database administrators and developers to evaluate business problems
  • Automate processes and sub-processes 
  • Assuring solutions are designed and developed to meet or exceed audit requirements
  • Leveraging agile development methodologies and processes


Required Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related field
  • 3 or more years of experience in a DevOps related role
  • Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, etc.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as C#, .NET, Java, or Python
  • Proficiency in at least one modern database technology such as SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, Vector or Oracle
  • Ability to travel up to 10%


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Oil and Gas industry
  • Experience practicing DevSecOps
  • Experience with container management technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or similar
  • Experience with AI services like Azure AI Search, Semantic Kernel, LangChain, LangGraph, AWS Bedrock, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps and Power Automate)
  • Experience automating testing, monitoring, alerting, security scans, etc.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS cloud platforms, including services like Azure App Service, Azure Functions, AWS Lambda, etc.
