What to Expect
The C Operator monitors daily operation and performs preventative maintenance on central plant equipment located in various buildings within the Bartlesville, OK site.  Some of the processes involved use hazardous and volatile materials under high temperature and pressure.  Operators are exposed to various work conditions including outside weather and elements, blowing air, heat, noise, vibration and occasionally working from heights or confined spaces. Operators must follow safe work practices at all times and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.  In addition, Operators may perform repair work as assigned by shift leader.  Operators are required to work 12 hour rotating shifts consisting of both day and night shifts that may include U.S. Holidays.

 

What You’ll Do 

  • Be responsible for your own safety and the safety of your co-workers at all times with the responsibility to notify co-workers and supervisors of safety concerns immediately
  • Complete job specific training as assigned and always demonstrate responsible safe operation of plant and equipment
  • Learn and demonstrate functions associated with Power Plant operations and be able to assist in the daily operation of the plant
  • Learn and understand redundancy operations including diagnostics and restart processes when responding to a systems emergency (power outage, etc.)
  • Actively participate and interact with team in order to meet objectives

 

What You’ll Bring – Required 

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willing and able to perform/comply with the following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
    • To climb up to 250 feet in height 
    • To lift up to 50 pounds
    • To work 12-hour rotating shift, which includes some weekends and holidays (Employees generally work 48 hours one week, 36 hours the next, rotating between days and nights)
    • To work overtime
    • To work outside in harsh weather conditions
    • To work in enclosed spaces, such as tanks and silos
    • To work near large, hot, high-speed machines
    • To work around chemicals, including acids and bases
    • To learn computer software associated with process operations
    • To wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (such as steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)
    • To maintain your face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)

 
What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred

  • College degree, technical or professional certification
  • State of Oklahoma Mechanical, Plumbing, Boiler Operator or Electrical license (current or past)
  • 1 or more years of direct experience working as a maintenance craftsman/technician, oilfield or pipeline service tech
  • Direct experience with rotating equipment repair and/or maintenance
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of diesel-powered generators
  • Experience with building automation controls systems (Johnson Controls, Honeywell, etc.)
  • Experience with process instrumentation
  • 1 or more years of shift work experience

 

Compensation

This position has a base hourly pay of $25.34.
