As a Sr Advisor II, Structuring & Origination, you’ll serve as a commercially focused individual contributor within Phillips 66 Commercial’s Global Origination function, with responsibility for driving mid-to-long-term value creation and structuring complex commercial transactions across the global portfolio (Americas, Europe, and Asia). This role bridges deep financial engineering, trade finance, and portfolio optimization with Origination via active participation on Deal Teams delivering complex, structured opportunities. The position requires a commercially minded professional capable of managing sophisticated transaction risk profiles and converting them into high-value, bankable cash flows. Additionally, the role serves as the definitive authority on financial modeling standards for the Global Origination function, ensuring all transaction mechanics are robust, accurate, and aligned with corporate standards.

What You’ll Do

• As part of a deal team, identify, evaluate, support, and originate complex mid-to-long-term commodity transactions globally, including long-term supply and offtake agreements, physical asset monetization, prepays, and asset tolling opportunities, to capture structural market opportunities across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
• Lead end-to-end financial structuring for multi-commodity and cross-region proposals, establish sound transaction economics, and ensure valuation frameworks and financial models align with corporate standards and commercial objectives.
• Perform price sensitivity, optionality, and what-if scenario analysis; maintain key risk registers; and evaluate upside and downside sensitivities to support disciplined transaction decisions.
• Serve as the subject matter expert and mentor on advanced financial engineering techniques. Design and deliver targeted training to upskill team members and broader commercial desks on asset-level modeling, risk/return profiles, and valuation methodologies.
• Architect structured trade finance and liquidity solutions for international transactions, working with global financial institutions, Credit Risk, Corporate Treasury, and other stakeholders to optimize liquidity, capital allocation, and cash flow velocity.
• Manage the global transaction pipeline from concept through execution and lead recurring portfolio analyses to assess commercial strategy, identify structural gaps, and recommend pivots in response to changing market conditions.
• Serve as a key commercial advisor to trading desks, value chain leaders, and senior executives by translating technical structural and financial mechanics into clear strategic choices that support capital allocation and broader corporate growth goals.
• Collaborate across Deal Teams and with Origination, Trading, Risk, Finance, Treasury, Legal, and other internal partners to align stakeholders, resolve complex commercial issues, and advance transactions without formal direct-line authority.
• Mentor team members and elevate modeling, structuring, and commercial execution practices by translating complex technical concepts into clear, executable logic.

What You’ll Bring – Required

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative field
• 5 or more years of progressive experience in global energy commodity markets, corporate treasury, investment banking, or structured finance
• Documented success executing structured physical or financial commodity transactions and managing diverse commercial portfolios
• Expert-level proficiency in asset-level financial modeling, risk and return analysis, and valuation methodologies, with the ability to audit and validate complex transaction models
• Ability to dissect complex commercial problems and build creative transaction structures across different regulatory jurisdictions
• Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence senior internal stakeholders and manage external counterparty relationships
• Proven ability to align and drive cross-functional Deal Teams without formal direct-line authority

What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred

• MBA or CFA
• Experience structuring long-term supply and offtake agreements, physical asset monetization, prepays, asset tolling, or other complex commodity transactions
• Experience developing structured trade finance and liquidity solutions in partnership with financial institutions, Credit Risk, or Corporate Treasury
• Experience working across multi-commodity or cross-region portfolios spanning the Americas, Europe, and Asia
• Advanced understanding of transaction valuation, optionality, risk and return profiles, and commercial portfolio optimization
• Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and mentor professionals on complex financial concepts and modeling methodologies
• Strong strategic perspective and the ability to translate technical transaction mechanics into clear recommendations for senior leadership
• Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and influence decisions across diverse internal and external stakeholders

Compensation Range

This position has a base salary range of $160,200 – $195,800. This role is eligible to participate in the company’s commercial bonus program, offering the opportunity to earn additional compensation based on business and individual performance, in accordance with program guidelines.

The Commercial organization  works to effectively leverage assets and market knowledge to create additional value within the risk parameters of the Company. We do this by maximizing general interest profitability, enhancing return on capital employed by successfully partnering with the Refining, Transportation and Marketing functions to ensure Value Chain Integration.   Our truck and rail fleets support our feedstock and distribution operations.  Rail movements are provided via a fleet of more than 10,000 owned and leased rail cars. Truck movements are provided through numerous third-party trucking companies, as well as through our 100 percent-owned subsidiary, Sentinel Transportation LLC.
