What to Expect
The Field Technician is responsible for operational, mechanical, and instrument/electrical functions, such as inspection, calibration, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations. This work includes such activities as supervising/directing field crews, maintaining pipelines in compliance with contracts, regulations, and safety considerations, coordinating with on-site contractors, and ensuring cost effective and safe operations. Employee(s) in this position may have some environmental or safety activities associated with their responsibilities. Position will be based out of Wichita Falls, Texas at a crude facility but will be in rotation with employees associated with SOHI NGL line in Texas.

What You’ll Do
- Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, inspect, and repair of end devices and electrical equipment
- Conducts routine inspection of equipment and facilities (equipment health, security, AVO- Audio, Visual, Olfactory), operation of natural gas liquid pump and meter stations (to include mainline valves)
- Conducts pipeline pigging, filter changes, and ILI tool runs, etc.
- Responsible for Startup, Shutdown, and operating NGL equipment
- Performing and providing technical support for installations, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical, electrical, and rotating equipment
- Perform planned maintenance checks and calibration and timely submits appropriate reports
- Reading and understanding P&ID's
- Maintaining instrumentation and electrical (I&E) skills by attending training sessions and on-the-job training
- Maintains pipeline ROW such as markers, signs, and vegetation, exposures
- Maintains One-Call - Pipeline Locating, encroachment, excavation & crossing
- Maintains records in accordance with Pipeline regulatory requirements
- Conducts routine inspection, calibration and repair of meter and associated equipment (measurement meter, ultrasonic meter, flow computer)
- Assist with pulling composite samples and proving measurement meters on both Crude and NGL.
- Crude oil sampling
- Performs maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, air compressors, manual valve actuators, etc.
- Performs maintenance and repair of and fixed equipment such as filters (all types), and strainers
- Conducts routine inspection, such as transmitters, switches, fire eyes, hazardous gas detection, level detection, etc.
- Operate PLC, HMI equipment, software, pipeline valves and actuators
- Maintain and repair motor control equipment
What You’ll Bring – Required
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- High School Diploma or GED
- Maintain a valid driver’s license
- 3 or more years of oil and gas operations experience
- Willing and able to with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally climb A-frame ladders, or heights up to 50 feet
- Occasionally exert pulling forces up to 130 pounds
- Regularly stoops, squats, kneels, and crouches for durations up to 30 minutes
- Works extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Work outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity
- Works safely near large, hot, high-speed machines
- Work in loud environment
- Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment items (such but not limited to steel-toe shoes, eye and ear protection, and fall protection)
- Maintain your face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven), as business needs
What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred
- Completion of Technical school program
- 5 or more years of experience working with Pipeline maintenance or operation, instrumentation and electrical, and mechanical pump experience
- Knowledge of Allen Bradley Control/Compact Logic or Siemens Control systems
- Knowledge of variable frequency drives (VFD)
- Troubleshooting electrical problems on 240, 480, and 4160v systems
- Repairing and installing instrumentation and electrical equipment
- Reading manufacturer specifications or blueprints to assemble or disassemble complex systems
Compensation Range
This position has a base salary range of $75,000 – $113,960.
