What to Expect
As a Scheduling Specialist III, you will be at the heart of our daily operations, ensuring that every maintenance activity is prioritized, sequenced, and executed on schedule. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with skilled teams, apply your expertise in coordination and problem-solving, and make a real impact on our plant’s reliability and performance. This position will be accountable for developing and maintaining maintenance schedules aligned with the Routine Maintenance Work Process, ensuring work is execution-ready, and coordinating resources, materials, and timing to support safe and efficient operations utilizing SAP.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and manage detailed daily and weekly maintenance schedules for routine work, overhauls, and inspections to optimize resource utilization and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to prioritize, sequence, and align maintenance activities with plant goals and regulatory standards.
- Ensure all scheduled work is fully prepared for execution, including job packages, labor estimates, materials availability, and required permits using SAP and other tools.
- Monitor schedule adherence and execution progress, making real-time adjustments to accommodate emergent work and shifting priorities.
- Partner with craftspeople and supervisors to confirm readiness, resolve constraints, and improve schedule efficiency and execution performance.
- Facilitate and contribute to daily and weekly scheduling meetings, communicating plans, priorities, and status updates across teams.
- Support turnaround and shutdown events by building, coordinating, and tracking integrated schedules across multiple crafts and workstreams.
- Analyze completed work and schedule performance, updating maintenance histories and identifying opportunities to improve scheduling effectiveness and workflow reliability.
- Help implement quality assurance initiatives, comply with all safety and regulatory requirements, and ensure all scheduled work meets safety and execution standards.

What You’ll Bring – Required
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
- Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodations, to comply with the following:
- Travel up to 5%
- Operate company vehicle on site premises and / or public roads up to 5%
- Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and perform occasional dutie
- Transport articles up to 50 pounds
- Climb ladders and stairs up to 200 feet
- Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines, around chemicals and hydrocarbons under high pressure and heat, and in harsh weather conditions
- Wear fire-retardant clothing and personal protective equipment.
- Maintain face daily for proper respirator/face mask seal. (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 or more years of craft or operations experience in the Energy industry
What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5 or more years of craft or operations experience in the Energy industry
- 5 or more years of experience in maintenance scheduling, work management, or coordination including resource planning, CPM logic, and logistics
- Proficiency working in Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience utilizing scheduling and maintenance systems such as SAP, Symphonic, Prometheus, and Primavera P6 Ability to coordinate multi-craft work activities and resolve scheduling conflicts
- Working knowledge of engineering, safety, and IHS standards and procedures
- Able to read and perform material take-offs from isometrics and equipment drawings
- Understands and uses functional expertise to contribute to the success of the business
- Ability to read, interpret and apply information from files, drawings, catalogs, reports and manual
Compensation Range
This position has a base salary range of $127,800 - $156,200.

The Lake Charles Refinery is located in Westlake, Louisiana. Refinery facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrocracking, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. Facilities also include a specialty coker and calciner. The refinery processes a mixture of light to heavy, low- and high sulfur and low- and high-acid crude oils. It receives domestic, Canadian and other foreign crude oil through truck, pipeline, marine transportation and terminals, including the Beaumont and Clifton Ridge terminals and the Bayou Bridge Pipeline. Lake Charles produces a high percentage of transportation fuels. Other products include off-road diesel, home heating oil, feedstock for our Excel Paralubes joint venture, specialty graphite petroleum coke and petroleum coke. Refined products are distributed in the southeastern and eastern United States by truck, rail car, barge or pipelines and exported to Latin America and West Africa.
