The Facilities Operator, Ponca City ensures safe and reliable operation of various buildings within the Ponca City Office Complex. Operations are run 24/7 and the Facilities Operator works a 12 hour rotating shift including days, nights, and some weekends.
What You’ll Do
- Ensure responsible, safe operation of the plant and equipment
- Complete job specific training as assigned
- Issue work permits for daily work activities
- Work with outside contractors and agencies
- Gain familiarity with Power Plant operations and assist in the daily running of the plant
- Gain familiarity with Johnson Controls and how they work in controlling and operating the Power Plant, HVAC units for the complex
- Understand, start up, and diagnose any issues associated with building operations in the event of an emergency (power outage, loss of city water, natural gas, etc.) until additional crafts and operators arrive to assist
- Own responsibility for your own safety and the safety of your co-workers at all times and notify co-workers and supervisors of safety issues immediately
- Operate and maintain Swimming Pool and Café equipment
What You’ll Bring - Required
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Willing and able to perform/comply with the following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Work 12-hour rotating shifts, which includes some weekends and holidays (employees generally work 48 hours one week, 36 hours the next, rotating between days and nights)
- Work overtime
- Work in confined spaces
- Work near large, hot, high-speed machines
- Work around processes involving hazardous and volatile materials under high pressure and temperature
- Climb up to 250 feet in height
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Work around chemicals, including acids and bases
- Conduct HVAC Process Water Chemistry Testing
- Wear fire resistant clothing and personal protective equipment (such as steel-toed shoes, ear, and eye protection)
- Maintain your face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (example: clean shaven)
- Work outside in harsh weather conditions and around blowing air, heat, noise, and vibration
- Learn computer software associated with process operations
What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred
- One or more years of direct experience working as a process operator, maintenance craftsman/technician, oilfield services, agricultural production environment, or HVAC-related field
- Oklahoma State Mechanical, Plumbing, or Electrical license
- Experience working in building maintenance or power plant operations
- Experience dealing with operations and maintenance of diesel generators
Compensation
This position has a starting hourly rate of $46.19. This position has a 7.5% annual cash bonus target, 8% 401k match, and Cash Balance Account pension.
The Ponca City Refinery is located in Ponca City, Oklahoma, approximately 95 miles northwest of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Its facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes a mixture of light, medium and heavy crude oil delivered via pipeline from Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, the U.S. Rockies and Canada. Infrastructure improvements have enabled the delivery of locally produced crude oil by pipeline and truck. The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels and anode-grade petroleum coke. Refined products are primarily distributed to customers by company-owned and common carrier pipelines to markets throughout the Midcontinent region.
