Job Duties:
- Provide subject matter expertise and partner with Phillips 66 refinery sites to identify, prioritize, and execute APC (Advance Process Controls) and multi-unit optimization projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies to further develop and strengthen the APC Network for Phillips 66 Refining.
- Utilize APC applications to sustain optimal refinery performance and product quality, improve yield and throughput, and reduce energy consumption.
- Create sophisticated models of refinery processes, capturing complex relationships to help predict behavior of process variables to secure safe and optimum operational output.
- Analyze process data and control system performance to identify optimization opportunities for both conventional APC and RTO (Real-Time Optimization) technology and modern AI based APC and RTO technology.
- Apply chemical process engineering knowledge and principles to test and validate control strategies using conventional APC and Optimization tools including Aspen APC DMC3 Builder, Aspen Inferential Qualities, Aspen GDOT and Honeywell RMPCT.
- Apply chemical process engineering and process control theory to build AI based process control models using tools like IMUBIT and Seeq AI based model builder.
- Develop and implement best practice standards for increased long-term effectiveness of effectiveness of the APC, multiunit optimization applications and inferential predictor applications.
- Provide technical support, guidance, and training to refinery personnel to support continual improvement and ensure full utilization of Advance Controls and Optimization (AC&O) applications including DMC3 (Aspen Dynamic Matrix Control) and RMPCT (Honeywell Robust Model Predictive Control Technology).
- Participate in APC and process control peer reviews at refineries.
- Lead implementation and review software updates from vendors.
- Assist with the discovery, selection, and implementation of new technologies and practices for AC&O.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual AC&O progress reports including key performance metrics.
- Position requires travel to various unanticipated locations.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field and 10 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in a Senior Engineer Advanced Process Control-related occupation.

Compensation Range
This position has a base salary range of $168,454.00 to $207,600 per Year
