The Scheduler III, Relief Coverage will work in an open, fast-paced team of Commercial Schedulers in Houston to optimize commodities in Phillips 66’s portfolio. The individual will cover a scheduling desk when the regular Commercial Scheduler is away for planned or unplanned leave. The individual will report directly to the Director, Clean Scheduling in Commercial.
What You’ll Do
- Advancing Phillips 66 as an industry leader in integrity, scheduling excellence, and professionalism while continuously driving to increase general interest value.
- Providing scheduler relief coverage as needed on a 24/7 basis.
- Able to cover scheduling desks outside of Commercial Clean when needed.
- While covering a scheduling desk:
- Performing nominations and daily scheduling activities for products including, but not limited to, gasoline, intermediate blendstocks, ethanol, diesel, jet, and transmix to fulfill Commercial Trading, Marketing, and VCO demand requirements and execute on Phillips 66 commitments while avoiding refinery or terminal containment events.
- Entering data into SAP, Trade66, Navarik, Mainstay, other 3rd-party systems, etc. accurately and promptly to meet operational, financial, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinating inspectors and ensuring specification and quantity measurement requirements are met and ensure costs are appropriately shared with counterparties as applicable.
- Managing product specification changes through distribution systems to meet regulatory requirements.
- Performing loss control oversight.
- Understanding logistical constraints and working effectively across business teams to optimize inventories, identify market opportunities, and balance profit with operational risk.
- Actively participating in weekly refinery, Supply Reliability Team (SRT), or similar meetings dependent on desk.
- Closely monitoring asset operations and communicating current and/or future operational issues promptly to key stakeholders.
- Continuously maintaining and reporting accurate inventory positions and working with Marketing, Commercial Trading, and VCO to manage inventory to targets.
- Understanding and abiding by domestic and international regulations and laws associated with the desk and conducting any required regulatory reporting as needed.
- Quickly establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with external and internal counterparts.
- Conducting scheduler desk reviews to facilitate and implement process improvements and ensure desk manuals are available and updated.
- Supporting resolution of book-to-book and book-to-physical activities for SAP inventories for Commercial US Clean Scheduling.
- When not providing coverage, assisting Commercial Schedulers with management of inventories, reporting requests, Discrepancy Error Workbench ticket resolution, and similar activities as directed by the Director, Clean Scheduling.
What You’ll Bring - Required
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3 or more years of industry experience in logistics management, value-chain optimization, or commercial activity support
- Able to work extended and non-standard hours
- Intermediate proficiency with analytical tools such as Excel and PowerBI

- Working knowledge of marine, pipeline, rail, and truck transportation operations

Compensation Range
This position has a base salary range of $121,500 – $148,500. This role is eligible to participate in the company’s commercial bonus program, offering the opportunity to earn additional compensation based on business and individual performance, in accordance with program guidelines.

The Commercial organization works to effectively leverage assets and market knowledge to create additional value within the risk parameters of the Company.
