As an Advisor II, DevOps Engineering, you’ll play a hands-on role in enabling dependable, secure, and modern technology that supports business operations and digital progress across the Asset Maintenance portfolio.  This position blends technical depth with collaboration, giving you the opportunity to apply DevOps best practices while working closely with cross-functional teams.  If you enjoy solving complex problems, learning continuously, and contributing to meaningful outcomes, this role offers a strong platform for growth and impact.  

 

What You’ll Do

  • Design and create pipelines to manage code deployments.
  • Support continued advancements across the team (e.g. cloud architecture, security, knowledge sharing, monitoring, and automation).
  • Drive the development and execution of an automation strategy focused around streamlining processes, load testing critical applications, functional testing releases, and eliminating repetitive manual tasks & reporting.
  • Working with project teams, business analysts, enterprise architects, database administrators and developers to evaluate business problems.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive health and event monitoring/alerting of production environments with the goal of IT situational awareness prior to end user performance issues.
  • Partner with key external vendors, to influence product development to advance Phillips66 strategy.
  • Partner with external vendors to quickly resolve critical incidents and manage the incident investigations and after-action review process.
  • Manage and optimize integrations between internal to internal and external to internal systems.
  • Participate on project teams to ensure proper alignment of IT solutions to the business requirements as well as IT policies and procedures.
  • Automate processes and sub-processes.
  • Leveraging agile development methodologies and processes.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment toward prioritizing and managing initiatives with business value as a core metric.
  • Utilize fact based/data-driven intelligence to make decisions.
  • Ensure 24x7 operational excellence of key Refining systems.

 

What You’ll Bring – Required

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2 or more years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, Software Engineering or related technical role
  • Working knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD concepts, and modern software development principles
  • Experience with SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
  • Experience working with vendors to implement solutions/provide oversight
  • Strong decision to seek and execute process improvements

 

What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in MIS, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
  • Knowledge of Phillips 66 Refining and Midstream businesses
  • Oil and Gas industry experience
  • Hands on experience with practicing DevSecOps
  • Experience with container management technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or similar
  • Experience with cloud native application logging, monitoring, and vulnerability scanning solutions
  • Knowledge of general IT policies
  • Knowledge of standard support concepts, practices, and procedures related to cloud technologies
  • A continuous improvement mindset with interest in innovation, new technologies, and modern ways of working
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to navigate complexity and work independently when needed
  • Ability to present ideas and influence others

 

Compensation Range

This position has a base salary range of $108,000 – $133,100

Where a candidate offer falls within the posted range depends on the candidate's experience, skills, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
